The ammo prices have dropped to a reasonable level. It's a military caliber, the rifles will sell.

      >6k for a 7.62 spear
And I guarantee a SCAR, LMT, KAC, or nearly any other 7.62 BR blows it out of the water.

The actual MSRP is around $4200

Just because you CAN buy it from scalpers for $6k doesn't mean that's what it SHOULD cost.

I wouldn't pay more than $2k for it

          Good for you?

          SCAR is ~$4,500+ these days
SR-25 is $6.5k+ these days too

            Yeah I agree with

I wouldn't pay more than $2k for it

I wouldn't pay more than 2k maybe like 1200 is more realistic though

I mean, .308 these days runs $0.85+ per round as well.

      Cheaper than most hunting calibers

I suspect its going to be a hard sell until they have the exact specs for the full house military loadings. Lawyers won't let them sell a gun that will pipe bomb after you shoot grey market special ammo.

Because if the rifles are built to handle the non-cucked loads with a decent service life, they'll be too heavy. And if they aren't, people are going to drag the rifles for being pieces of shit.

      >too heavy
Literally no one has said this about the XM7

It's one of the lighter battle rifles of its caliber range (6.5CM/7.62) though I don't think it is THE lightest weight one. But none of the other 7.62/6.5CM rifles on the market are built for the 80k PSI loads that .277 fury supposedly is.

Too heavy if they're expected to have a decent service life. 5k rounds is PSA-tier lifespan. Which is why the army will mostly be using cuck loads until they go into combat

It's a bimetallic cartridge that generates 100,000 fricking PSI. The felt recoil will be horrendous, as will the wear and tear on working internals, and you won't be able to reload it. Plus it's expensive. At risk of sounding like a fudd, I think I'll stick with the Cold War cartridge, sonny.

      >100,000 fricking PSI
AFAIK, the chamber pressure is more like 80-85k PSI

They make normal pressure loads for this caliber, they're actually the majority of the rounds on the market.
