It is an irrelevant and obsolete brand.

It is an irrelevant and obsolete brand.
There is virtually no reason to buy them anymore, and there is definitely no reason to buy them new, i.e. at full price.
The novelty and innovation of their inception has long since worn off.
Lightweight polymer grips, their original and only claim to relevance, have, for at least a decade, been successfully merged with hammer fired and/or chassis based pistols which have triggers not reminiscent of your ex-wife's bath sponge like Glocks are, and which do not have superfluous and useless trigger safeties like Glocks do.
Please stop buying them. Please stop buying them, if only so that they are forced to innovate.
That is the only way we can move forward.
That is the only way we can reach collective enlightenment.

Off the top of my head, the IWI Masada does everything Glock does, but better. Most notably, the trigger, controls, and grip texture are miles better.

Isn’t that the point though? Everyone makes a Glock copy now and they are either better, or the same but cost less.

Would you recommend Armalite or Colt over other manufacturers for an AR?

Do you think we'll finally see something new from Glock? Not AR slop but new handgun designs or maybe a PCC? Maybe a new cartridge?

I hope not, look at the disaster that has become of Daniel Defense trying to manufacture a handgun, I have 0 expectations for any company that deviates from a working formula, there is a competency crisis, the society that could manufacture and maintain the Concorde is long gone

Wait... wtf is the point of that top glock? The slide is full size yet the gripe wants to be sub compact. Is this a joke? Did you 3D print this? I'm genuinely curious as to what that gun accomplishes.

        Anonymous

Glock thinks that innovation is slapping the slide from an existing model onto the frame of a different existing model, and then selling it as a new model. bonus points if the aforementioned parts were already compatible

As opposed to the rest of Glock clones? You want your first line of defense to be complex and not moron-proof? Because in a self defense situation I don't think your brain goes into Rayman mode, to say the least

I'm just questioning the validity of calling the simplicity of the Glock, somehow, a detriment

It's less "simplicity" and more "counter-intuitive to compensate for poor skills".
        >controls flush with frame to prevent accidental actuation due to poor grip
        >aggressive-, no, hostile grip texturing to mitigate poor grip (and cheaper molds with the simple studded texture)
        >nearly three-wall trigger makes NDs less likely or something, tbh I think it's inexcusable

For an experienced shooter, the Masada just feels better. Granted, I do have biases.
        >solid shelf on slide catch/release gives your thumb better purchase when actuating
        >mag release can be pressed so long as your thumb can touch it, where the Glock's can only be pressed from the front half
        >grip texture is finely detailed; almost velvet-like, and provides more consumate grip rather than pressure being focused on studs
        >clean, consistent pull to trigger wall is miles better than any other stock wonder 9 I've fired
If Glock just tweaked their current design by making the mag release and slide catch the slightest bit convex, rounded out the texture studs, and figured out their trigger (may have been solved in gen 5 idk), I would love their gun. I don't have a problem with the design itself.

I wonder how many glocks are currently sitting and waiting for extractor rma because the engineers are moronic and keep putting a sharp right angle in their frame molds in the perfect place to interfere with the guide rod spring actuating when the gun cycles and I wonder how many of those will go back to the customer with new springs and extractors and still not work right

Ironically glock is now a premium brand in its space due to the proliferation of dirt cheap knockoffs and I hate to say it but they are noticeably superior to p80s, daggers, etc

Single action strikers are a mistake. Not having a trigger dingus is a big tier mistake. Trigger snobbery is for trash shooters, doubly so on anything that isn't a range toy. You're dumb and wrong. Glock gen 5 and the p99 are the best striker fired guns to ever be designed. I am right, you are wrong.

Reminder to all you idiots keep shitting on Glock:
If youre shooting a Glock with aftermarket barrel, aftermarket trigger, aftermarket sights, aftermarket mags, aftermarket slide, aftermarket guiderod, modified trigger guard, aftermarket optic mount, or modified grips, you wouldnt understand how good a Glock is.

      Glocks are ok
They're good enough for most people's wants and needs
I don't like them because that's just my preference, but to deny their worth based just on that is a bit silly
They're readily available and they work well, and you can't really say fairer than that

How much more "innovation" can you do to a plastic frame striker fired pistol? I think we reached peak innovation on this 20 years ago. That's why Gaston got bored with it and decided watching horses frick was a better use of his time.
