What would the Russians need to take bakhmut itself?

      Anonymous

It's part of the defense line. Either Bhakmut or Seversk need to be taken for the front to fall. Russia is attempting both and it looks like Bhakmut is easier than Seversk that has fortified hills surrounding it.

Listen mate, its a tension cable bridge, filling a pothole just makes it safe for a vehicle not under 10 tonnes to cross without having to swerve around it. The actual structural integrity of the bridge hasn't been improved.

Look up GBU's going through hangers on a delayed fuse, the hanger is fine but everything under isn't. Same effect.

              Anonymous

Listen mate you've been rickkrolled, the bridge they're filling in in that photo isn't the Antonivka tension cable bridge at Kherson, it's the bridge on top of the Nova Khakovka dam, which is why you can clearly see the Nova Khakovka hydroelectric power plant control building in the background.

Honestly, I think it's just getting this bad because it's been months of Russia in a life or death struggle with their relatively small neighbor. For contrarians, Vatniks, and people obsessed with the West falling this mind break material because Russia was one of the only two remotely relevant countries in opposition to western hegemony.
Russia being locked into a brutal slugging match with Ukraine totally sinks any delusions that they would have ever put up any meaningful fight against NATO.
I suspect the shilling is going to get much worse by the time this has dragged on an entire year with extremely moderate progress having been made by Russia.
