I've seen it for 5cpr with shipping in bulk in the last month or two, and as says it's still way less right now.

Your problem besides being a moron is picking relatively fancy gucci 22lr, you can spend even more on lead free copper mono high velocity if you want. Of course "gucci" 22lr is still like, half the price of cheapshit 9mm.

For the record I bought 5k rounds of that bolt action only aguila 22 at 5 cpr… and it’s fricking dogshit… average at least 1 out of 6 duds… both in revolvers and 2 different striker fired pistols….

Did you miss the past 3 years anon? Let me give you a refresher.
    >ammo manufacturers were hit with so much demand in 2020/2021 that they're still working through backorders to this day (IIRC it was mid 2021 when most major US manufacturers stopped receiving more orders than they were shipping)
    >9mm is currently the only major caliber where supply is back to normal
    >1 in 5 gun owners got into guns since 2020, never knew about cheaper ammo, and will happily pay current prices
    >major ammo manufacturers are planning future production capacity with a higher percent utilization under normal demand to avoid a repeat of the Trump era slump where they had to sell large volumes to make money effectively
    >the last of the Russian steel cased ammo has the next 4 months to get imported (assuming they're even exporting it anymore) after which there will be no more, and despite companies working to bring in steel cased ammo from other countries Russian ammo still makes up about 90% of the steel cased ammo still on the market
    >we're about a year from another round of election panic buying
Today's ammo prices are here to stay for the foreseeable future.

      >.223 and 7.62x39mm are starting at 40cpr currently with Russian steel case ammo still on the market
What are we going to be looking at as the new normal once there's no more cheap steel case ammo competing at a lower price point? 45cpr? 50cpr?

I’m buying lead free .177 pellets for quiet cheap plinking now. Airguns are fun as frick

      >lead free .177
      >cheap
      >quiet
Not as cheap as lead and not as quiet as lead, especially in a break barrel. They always try to push lead free to 1kfps in them and the mfgs of lead free don't make their pellets normal weights because of the lower density (and they're moronic so they don't account for it).

Those are far and away the most reliable subsonics I have found. Good effect on squiggers. Yeah, the twist rate stuff, but not an issue in my old rolling block, or at pistol ranges.
CCI Suppressor Subsonic HPs are good, but they expensiven and I doubt they expand much at all

mini mags have always been more expensive. sale price before the last panic was around 7-8 bucks a sleeve (rebate sales usually made it so they ended up being like 5), and you can find them for sale around 9-10 a sleeve today still
5-7 cpr for shitty bulk ammo is the new norm though, up from like 3.5-4 before the scare.
Don't compare to pre 2012 prices. That shit is long gone.

      Anonymous

minimag for 7cpr was worth when remington/winchester bulk was 5 cpr

now that bulk has dropped down to 6cpr (and aguila is even 5cpr), it doesn't make sense to pay 12 cpr for minimags

        Anonymous

Mini mags are more reliable overall, but any decently made modern gun can function with any shit ammo, as long as you're willing to do a bit more cleaning if the bullets aren't plated. I have some older guns that hate bulk ammo like blazer or thumberbolt.
I also have a surplus trainer that actually blows out every cheap thin walled bulk ammo base, but works fine with thicker walls found in target ammo (SK, Eley). It's a defective part with no available spare parts available unfortunately, so if I want to shoot it, I have to shoot the gucci ammo.

          Anonymous

          >any decently made modern gun can function with any shit ammo,
homie the point isnt about whether a gun will function, they'll all function

It's that mini mags and standards are the most accurate non-match (eley, lapua) 22lr ammo. And they used to only cost marginally more than bulkshit. But increased prices means its not really worth anymore
