Is this really the premier brand for rucking equipment?

Is this really the premier brand for rucking equipment? I've been wanting to get heavy into rucking, and I have a medium ruck from the army, but I'd prefer not to use it too much in case of rips and what not and having to pay that back.

It's a meme. They're not terrible but they are the Black Rifle Coffee of backpacks.

Use your issue ruck. It's not going to break. Or get a alice pack from a surplus store if you like. In a few years if you still like rucking get a Mystery Ranch, they are the 10/10 platinum standard and priced accordingly.

I've heard of mystery ranch, my hesitancy is they're accredited for 25lbs, and i want I usually ruck with 45-65lbs

I still use my ruck, dont' get me wrong, but I'd rather not use it for camping trips or things where I'm going off trail that could potentially rip it from dense foliage or what not. I just really don't like dealing with CIF and haven't had a good experience with them at all

They're what SF use to ruck 120lb loads. If I were you I'd use a generic army rucksack. It will do 120lb too.

Were you not issued the large ruck? If you were only issued the medium, then use that. It's designed to be used and is overbuilt compared to civilian packs. If it gets ripped, have your supply guy write it off and get a new one. It happens all the time.
On the off chance you are not moronic and actually want to improve your rucking, get a Mystery Ranch SATL or larger pack. Or just buy a surplus ALICE, MOLLE II, or a Tactical Tailor MALICE pack. All will serve you well and be fine for general rucking.

          >have your supply guy write it off
That's not really how it works, it'd have to be associated with a field loss or usage during official duties and I'm currently reserve and don't go nearly ever, so it'd be nearly impossible to do so. I've been looking at mystery ranch pretty hard, I know everyone recommends the SATL, is the blackjack any good though? I'd like something I can travel with and use for really all in one

Alice/malice frames are a pretty shit option these days, because they're stupidly expensive for what you get. The days of $30-50 for a decent setup are pretty much over unless you get lucky.
The MOLLE II large is pretty shit as well and basically hated by everyone who has to use it, especially with that awkward frame design (although it does integrate load lifters the best).
I think the best bang for the buck option these days would be a FILBE on a 1606 MC gen II frame. They fixed the old cracking issues with a redesign, and the packs themselves are a strong update on the big green tick Alice format with input from Dana Gleason of Mystery Ranch.

no it is not. """"rucking"""" is not a unique qualifier or some sort of value metric in the first place. it's a non-starter.
every backpack is made for rucking, that's the purpose; to carry things.
you want a good backpack, not a rucking backpack. there is no distinction to be made between the two.
rucking as a unique market niche does not exist.

that's like asking for good "driving" gasoline or good "wearing" clothes. these things exist to do that from the outset.

You are moronic and autistic. There is a massive difference between packs made for carrying school books, and packs made for carrying heavy loads long distances. The word 'rucking' is the distinction, and pretending you don't understand colloquial usage shows you're a gay. Boo hoo homosexual, get over it.

Yeah he doesnt' realize that rucksacks are made to balance weight appropriately while also being made of material that can withstand certain loads. You can't just grab some random backpack and put 65lbs in it and think you'll be comfortable after 6-12 miles

Black person i said you want a good backpack. a good backpack will be better at carrying things. rucking is carrying a lot of things a long ways. how hard is this to grasp?

Can't recommend Goruck. They are okay but for the money there are better options, both for weight-bearing (real rucking), and for an EDC/laptop bag. I got mine cheap because it was discontinued so I'm not really personally invested in it like most Goruck owners are.
They are constructed well enough but there are several spots you can see they cut corners, like the zipper pulls.

You destroy your knees by not doing shit like rucking, integrating sustained weights over miles is amazing for your joints granted you stretch before and after while staying hydrated.

There's actually a lot of studies which is why it's a cornerstone for military fitness. Done correctly it's one of the best aerobic exercises that contributes to many other muscle groups.

No, not at all. They're just 1000D jansports. Also rucking is beyond stupid, unless you're actually humping it with your oda across some real shit terrain to avoid detection. There are no returns on this physical activity, it is not exercise, it is degrading your lower body at an accelerated rate.

    DO NOT RUCK.

You're just fat or skinny. Colonels and CSMs and dudes that have been in for 30+ years disagree with you. The only reason rucking hurts is because you're too weak to carry your load

What x-rays? The military spends millions into research, if it was as detrimental as you claim they would substitute it for other exercises that replicate and simulate equivalents that are less intensive.
I know you'll give some lazy responses of "bro, trust me this fat ssg that never worked out got fricked doing it", but look into the studies, and actually realize it is a great exercise.

Rucking is an essential skill for all infantry. It necessarily breaks you, but that's a cost of having infantry that can do their job.

. Rucking is a functional necessity and it can't be replicated because 90% of what you're exercising is the ability to ignore your body's warning signals that the thing you're doing is causing irrepairable harm.

I don't get hurt when rucking because I don't ruck like a moron. I literally casually ruck 6-10 miles once a week and I have no problems because I workout consistently, stay hydrated, don't eat like shit, and stretch before and after.

It's really as simple as that

Recognize there's a difference between anabolic exercise with small packs, and then there's catabolic exercises with overloaded packs. The military packs too much shit, and you should not replicate what they ask of grunts to save a few pennies.

No one except knuckle draggers trains with anything over 65lbs.

Most rangers and sf do 35lbs standard since it's the requirement for nearly all schools and trainings.
