If Ukraine is anything to go by, just wait until the crew abandons their tank.

No, they barely work and need perfect conditions to function correctly, which barely ever happen in battle.

          >why do they ask for more
They don't. they want more NLAWs and other AT system but Javelins turned out to be useless unless perfect conditions.

Thick enough armor, though kinda heavy or putting concrete or ground between you and the gun if you want classic protection
Enough mobility and a low profile would lead to the gun missing/glancing/not firing in the first place as it fails to acquire a target
Though best defence in this case is offence, hit the tank with anti tank weaponry, hit its sights/tracks, maybe the engine with small arms fire, heavy machineguns are cool for that, pouring gasoline in some places then lighting it might work

    TLDR : Yeah

Being behind a berm helps. Our group was assaulting a village controlled by russians and one squad took heavy fire from two T-72. Luckily, they quickly got behind a tiny berm and despite being shelled for long ass 10 minutes, no one was injured. The squad retreated after our Stugna scared T-72s away.

    >ERA doesn't even cover the most vunerable points of the turret
