ACKro is garbage for the price point. Just get a 509T or EPS for half the price and same QC/performance.

If anon wants an ACRO, the gen 2 is the only choice and infinitely better than the gen 1.

There is a closed emitter RMR on the way, with a top mounted battery that kind of looks like the Steiner. I haven't seen one in person yet.

I appreciate you buying American too OP. I try to always buy American myself but honestly, Holosun is absolutely killing it on the pistol dots. The EPS and EPScarry are fantastic at half the price. American manufactures seem to be ripping people off to keep government contract prices high.

        >ACRO
        >American
If they’d simply just try to make something new instead of riding their legacy’s coattails for decades I’d have more sympathy for them. The only reason they’re trying to innovate is because Holosun is stealing the market. If Holosun never came around they’d still be selling the same old shit from 15 years ago.

This is why I don't give a shit about buying American. Buy the best you can afford regardless of origin and the free(ish) market will do the rest in time. US companies deserve to lose out on sales if they aren't going to innovate and adapt. I do like Cyelee, I think they get it.

I understand your point but I don't like buying from China. China is doing a great deal of anti-American shit out in the world, talking countries into dropping the dollar and investing to corner resources in South America and Brazil. They are a serious geopolitical threat and actively pursue toppling the value of the dollar and American influence. I don't want to give them any money if I can avoid it. Make the shit in Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines etc... and I would have far less issue with it.

Europe and North America will never accept Woolongs before Dollars or Euros. Sweden imports electronics, so Aimpoint is Chinese optics anyway

I am telling you they are making moves in Africa and South America to achieve 2 things. First create a large international trade network that does not use western currency and secondly to create a global monopoly on certain valuable minerals and on food supply. The food supply is fine but I'd rather not support the other stuff. They are also going to invade Taiwan as soon as they think the west is adequately distracted.

Brightside those "moves", by the Belt and Road program, were done through loans, mainly from the US, and most of the collateral that was intended to be used for resource mining has literally come to nothing. And also their economy and government are preparing for a crash.

Oh no, China is dumping billions of dollars into building infrastructure in countries they'll never understand and whose populace lacks the interest or will to maintain it? Somebody should stop them before they build an empire (of dust)

Anon, belt & road is a scam. Once those countries default on their loans, China is just going to move in and take over. They have more than enough people to do it and they do not care about being humanitarian like the West. Belt & road is a nightmare, absolutely.

I certainly hope we don't ever have to test your hypothesis. The idea of a paper tiger running around the world erecting substandard corncrete infrastructure and bullying others sounds horrible, anon. They are frightening specifically because they are so incapable, yet possess greater technologies.

Britain and America were world powers doing pretty much that, except with large navies to control international shipping.

Yeah, controlling international shipping is important, and being a small island nation or a fledgling offshoot of one affords you opportunities to develop cultural and strategic capability in a way that being a basically homogeneous nation consistently occupied by foreign dynasties for 2000 years does not

High value dollar is bullshit anon. Just destroys native manufacturing (since nobody can afford to buy our stuff), drives up housing prices by attracting foreign investment, and lets the government print endless amounts of money they then use to frick us over. Petrodollar is incompatible with having a real, functional economy.

aimpoint/trij are going to continue "riding coattails" until their military customers demand something different. Military doesn't care about shake awake, they care about shit like less than 1 in 1000 unit failures when in storage for 10 years (verified through analysis). Commercial customers shouldn't feel bad about buying a different product if their needs don't align with the us military.

If they want less than 1 in 1000 unit failures then they definitely go with the ACKro. The “legacy” I was talking about was their rifle optics since no pistol dot has had wide spread adoption yet. Holosun dots will never be adopted even if they were the most bombproof, reliable optics out there since they’re Chinese, so you also have to take that into account.

I mentioned this a while back in a different thread but if HS was willing to make a 2032 EPS full size they'd get approved for BP use. And if they're willing to do some patent infringement and copy the RCR and mod the EPS to fit as a direct mount to the MOS they'd probably win a government contract.

P2 is by far the ugliest dot I’ve ever seen. Looks like it was designed to be mounted on a HiPoint. Also no forgiveness for how tiny the window is with how bulky the housing is.

RCR is better if you're already stuck with an RMR cut slide.

The extra bulk in the rear of a P2 increases printing relative to an RMR by kind of a lot. If you're not talking about concealed carry though, no, there is no point in getting an RMR for a pistol in general IMO. Still a good buy on a shotgun or as a secondary on a rifle, where window size doesn't matter as much.
I have a bunch of Holosuns, but it's irritating that any time an Aimpoint or Trijicon is mentioned it becomes a poverty roll call thread.
