Advanced? Not really unless you are self motivated. Take an online Stop the Bleed course at bare minimum, it's a civilian offshoot of a DOD program through the American College of Surgeons and the most basic course is free.
No. Not only are the practical skills involved in first-aid extremely difficult to teach/learn online but you will lack the feedback required to assess your level of competency - you might think you've learnt something but actually have completely the wrong idea and without a teacher to assess you then you have no idea. Just go do a class.
>Tough to do in person classes with how much I work and other things I have to tend to.
If you can't find a single weekend to yourself to do a class then you don't really care and certainly wouldn't put in the effort to learn fuck all by yourself.
You make excellent points. I want to learn this in case of emergencies with a family member etc. just as in self defense I can’t be lazy about it. I’m going to find and make time for some kind of class even if I have to shuffle work or other things around it.
No you can't. Best to volunteer as an EMT somewhere. Hands on training and critical thinking in a real life situation are vital and cannot be taught online.
>volunteer.
You dont know shit about fuck. He will have to do classes pass a practical skills and likely fill a workbook and do several several hours of ride alongs. You dont just fucking volunteer out of nowhere and yeah dipshit you can in fact learn a lot of that and what to do from a textbook or online class freakoits usually happen because ignorant people have no frame of reference no clue what to do filling those holes in your knowledge and practical skills doing exercises ie: repeatedly practicing shit is how you get prepared the only thing you cant really prepare for is shit smells and stuff like that. Anyways no one should listen to you, ever.
True. I have looked into volunteering for some local fire or rescue but you have to be on call a lot of hours and do a lot of training that I currently cannot commit to.
And do what? They wont even let him in a fucking fire house or ride along in the fire truck without him already being emt certified by the state he has to take the courses. Theres shit called prerequisites.
I didn't tell him to drive a firetruck. They teach first aid or they can refer him to resources. If he's nice maybe they'd even let him join a certified class.
Literally any community college will have cheap very short emt class and a long one. Possibly more advanced ones you unlock by completing the prerequisites.
Look into Refuge Medical's YouTube channel. They have a great primer series on trauma first aid. You should still train though, at least on your own. You can practice applying tourniquets to yourself or on a dummy, you can practice wound packing on meat (stab / shoot it for realistic wound channels) etc. Ideally get to a class, at least a local Stop The Bleed (they're usually free).
I finally started playing MGS3 earlier this week
It fucking blows, everyone lied to me about how it's the best MGS game
I want to go back to 2 already and all I did was get over the bridge with the beehive at the very start >tfw you put the crocs to sleep, sneak up to them, and start slashing at them with the knife >they bleed but take no damage and will never die
kusoge, only way not to get spotted without a radar is to either already know where everyone is or use the clunky first person view every 3 steps as well
Oh and also >The Boss gives some big speech about how soldiers should just be unthinking tools that do what the government tells them without hesitation
This has to be a deliberate subversion of one of the main messages of the first 2 games being to QUESTION authority even as a soldier, but I know The Boss is a character everyone sucks off so it's weird to see that coming from her
I guess I'm just surprised nobody made the obvious counterarguments such as "what about if you get ordered to do holocaust 2 or flatten a kindergarten boss"

One final complaint, but it applies to all MGS games, not just 3
I have no idea how to do CQC because kojimbo was too lazy to get the actors to say "x button", "circle button" etc. instead I get shit like "press the CQC button" at the start of a 10 minute conversation as if I will even remember that let alone know what button that is
I've tried to put guys to sleep three times and accidentally slit their throats every time, what fucking button just knocks people out
finish the game first retard it's like 10 hours long
You can knife the crocks just takes a lot of them
CQC button is whack yeah but that's due to ports, on the original releases it just says circle button directly
Also be careful b/c if you play the emulated version of mgs3 it uses pressure sensitivity to decide whether you slit a throat or just grab him, in retrospect imo a bad choice and they just wanted to use ps2 features
same goes for mgs2 pressure sensitivity is used on ps2 ver to aim/run while aiming vs shooting
The main legit criticism of mgs3 is that changing camos constantly is not fun but its definitely not required, you can play the entire game naked
>CQC button is whack yeah but that's due to ports, on the original releases it just says circle button directly
You sure? I emulated the original MGS3 on PS2. Not Subsistence, just MGS3. Maybe it was a translation thing.
I knifed the croc for ages and it did nothing, must have slashed the fella over 20 times. At that point it's more than fair to assume it isn't doing anything. >pressure sensitive
okay I seriously might just drop the fucking game then rather than figure out how to set that shit up on the emulator. Ace combat is more fun anyway.

nagger, I played on a potato PC and I didn't have any problems with the sensitivity shit on a fucking keyboard and mouse.
You sound like a bitch and a retard.

That's every Metal Gear.
There should be plenty of options do learn that for free irl. If not from government sponsored programs then some charities. Learning it online and alone is next to impossible.
Online? No you can learn how to do some of the stuff but unless you do the skills you will never become proficient. Just like watching shooting videos will never make you a good shooter. Do a stop the bleeed class. Get a couple tqts, z packed gauze ~~*israeli bandages*~~ or ace bandage and chest seals. At least two of everything preferably more. Use one for practice and mark it. You can simulate packing wounds by using your fucking armpit. Realistically spend the money on a class and then continue to practice.
nagger just go take a CPR class at the Y
nah
cpr is boring brah

That sounds like a good start point thank you.
Tough to do in person classes with how much I work and other things I have to tend to.

You start by practicing a tracheotomy on yourself
i prefer colonrectal exams

Your "career" takes less than two years to learn lmao.
Contact your local fire department.

Do this anon. Its fairly easy. I did an 8 week program and was certified by the end of it. It was all night classes.
First aid is just meant to keep the patient alive until they get proper medical attention.
play America's army and try to be a medic. you literally have to do like 2 hours of training lmao
