Is there a field of mathematics/set of formal techniques designed to win of gunfights?

Is there a field of mathematics/set of formal techniques designed to win of gunfights? What is the method that works the best for it? If there were a sort of formal, tried and true method for doing so it would make things a lot easier.

Shoot the enemy in the back of the head before he knows you are there

Grenade why yes or even better flatten the whole building

Things like duels and "truels" (like a duel but with three people) are commonly discussed in higher mathematics (game theory), but it's more for exploring logic and has little to do with real-life combat. I can't imagine there is any way to analyze this mathematically other than going over statistics because there are simply too many unpredictable variables involved.

      >are simply too many unpredictable variables involved.
In this case it seems like computer simulations are needed. If we could map out every possible scenario and then predict the strategy that has the highest probability of working in the real world that would be very helpful.

        >If we could map out every possible scenario
There's an infinite number of possible scenarios. What if the room is a slightly different shape? What if one of the bad guys is standing in a slightly different position? Etc. There's an insane number of variables involved, such a thing would take far too long to solve, it is surely NP-complete.

Simulations designed to predict human behaviour are great at telling what a crowd would do, but not at what individuals would do. One guy might be a coward, while another has a deathwish. Someone might have not been paying attention during training when they were supposed to learn about flanking. The potential deviations are vast. There's just no way to tell who will do what with 100% accuracy. No way to tell if someone will do some Home Alone shit and put claymore mines on the ceiling. There's a saying that sums this up. "No plan survives contact with the enemy".

        >If we could map out every possible scenario

No, what if the other guy has slept more than you and has faster reactions? Or he happens to wear a shirt that blends in with the light conditions, making you spot him half a second late?

There's so many variables outside the situation itself that it's absolutely not possible to accurately predict.

Yes. The Gun /K/ata. Through analysis of thousands of recorded gunfights, /k/ has determined that the geometric distribution of antagonists in any gun battle is a statistically predictable element. The gun kata treats the gun as a total weapon, each fluid position representing a maximum kill zone, inflicting maximum damage on the maximum number of opponents while keeping the defender clear of the statistically traditional trajectories of return fire. By the rote mastery of this art, your firing efficiency will rise by no less than 300%. The difference of a 63% increase to lethal proficiency makes the master of the gun katas an adversary not to be taken lightly.

You're asking how to walk barefoot on the sun, OP. Gunfights come down to so many things that to reduce it to a math problem is the height of foolishness.

        Here's several.
        Who draws first.
        Who shoots first.
Is the opponent under the influence of substances or mentally ill that'll impair their ability to feel pain and fear.
        Accuracy of each shooter.
How bullets interact with obstacles from windshields to cell phones to the button on a jacket or big chungus's b***h breasts.
Does an unseen assailant pop up from an unexpected position? It happens. Especially with domestic disputes when the one getting beaten decides they don't want the attacker going to jail.

Really think Officer Ollie or Specialist Smith is going to be able to run a billion variables in their head when shit goes Hollywood? Get the frick real kid.

Best you can hope for is a good, fast draw when you figure things have gone to shoot, don't talk and hits on the important parts of the other guy have an effect that hinders his ability to shoot you too. And given how shit most shooters are, that's hoping to win the lotto.

come down to so many things
Fatigue, height, eyesight, reaction time, position of the sun, wind, air temperature, dust, rain, snow, fog mist, reflections, noise, echoes, smells, knee joints, colour vision, peripheral vision, ammunition, magazines, cover, concealment, shadow, lighting, mirage, camouflage, contrast, silhouette, shine, movement, amount of caffeine consumed, amount of amphetamines consumed, who's weapon was maintained better, who's child is sick, what the windows are made of, what the walls are made of, what music is playing, how many friends, what weapons, what range, what ready state, how breathless. I could keep going.

I don't really think mathematics would cover gunfighter theory. It's a lot more like art than science or math. If you're interested in reading theory about it just have a look at books like Dryfire Reloaded or Green Eyes & Black Rifles

You're literally describing gunkata. Patrick Bateman covered this in his equilibrium series back in the 00's. You could probably find a copy on VHS.

CQB is both art and science. The larger the team, the more complicated clearing a room becomes based on who can move where and who can engage which targets. But if you have a large team that is working in complete synchronicity then it becomes much easier to kill the opposition. Also FPBP.

You can develop this sense yourself if you play against aimbots in at least semi realistic FPS games. Because you always lose the response times and accuracy check determining outcome, you have to depend on much more subtle ways of killing what you can't yet see

Gun kata isn't real and it's bullshit, let's not pretend that's not what you're really asking. What we do have, just like for everything else, is a huge body of knowledge and theories crafted from experience, empiricism, simulations and theory. Anybody trying to claim mathematics outside of statistics and probabilities is a hack, and I doubt that's what you mean by mathematics anyway. There are best practices for everything, we don't call knowing that hanging around in the open with your wiener out during a firefight is a bad idea an application of mathematical principles either.

    Ballistics.
Although strictly speaking it's a field of physics and it's really for long range shooting but mastery of that and basic rangefinding techniques and see your first shots land on target.
