It was a 'Future Soldier' program from 1959. Leaving aside the goofy shit like rocket belts and foxhole-digging grenades, it was surprisingly prophetic: universally issued body armor, night vision goggles, miniaturized radios, synthetic rifle furniture, etc.

I've been thinking about ERA bricks lately. Lets say you built a castle and covered it with reactive armor. Would this be sufficient to repel most forms of ground assault? And then say you put artillery behind and on the walls too and have drones flying overhead spotting for the enemy trying to set up their own artillery within range of your walls, to make sure they don't just blow up your ERA castle from afar.
