Unfortunately no, it's a couple decades old and once a design hits that mark it won't kill people anymore.

Yes they are very good pistols. They are a bit outdated though. Lower capacity than other guns it’s size. Still great guns though.

you can run the 17 round vp9 mags in them but i think they need a collar to sit flush

The capacity / size ratio is disappointing

You can trim/grind the bottom of the followers and get 15 rounds in. The USP line is designed with reliability being the #1 priority. Technically you're supposed to download say a Glock mag by 1-2, professional agencies recommend this or write it into policy. The USP mags force you to download by 2 to prevent overpressure on the spring. If you trim the followers your can overcompress your spring if you want. I'd still recommend downloading by 1, a G19 sized gun is really a 14 round mag gun. Think how hard you have to shove that last round in and how barely it fits, that's what the HK mags are attempting to prevent.

HK sells new mag internals that are for the P30/VP9 mags to take the 1st gen 15rd ones up to 17rds.

If you take that kit and use the follower and spring from it, and cut off one full turn from the bottom of the spring, they will fit in a P2000 mag with the P2000 baseplate and it'll then hold 15rds.

Unless you're a cop you're not gonna need to reload anyway. Better that the mag is secure than it being easy to drop on accident.

I prefer the paddle release on my USP over any other release. I find that it's easier to use my point finger though.

This. Most people who spend even a little bit of time on the paddle tend to prefer it. I certainly do. As long as you're not a moron hitting it with your thumb, it's better than the buutton IMO

          >As long as you're not a moron hitting it with your thumb
What kind of lemur-handed motherfricker's thumb actually reaches the paddle from a firing hand grip?

paddles are best. So much easier to just drop my trigger finger down than to reach my thumb forward. Always felt like less movement of the hand. I love my VP9.

Lever mag releases are only better if you have short fingers.

you dare call it a lever release in response to me, despite me clearly calling it a paddle release

            Anonymous

Calling it a paddle is dumb it's tiny and more like a switch. It's nothing like what a paddle is meant to look like. It's either a dumb marketing thing or some German to English mistranslation. I refuse to play along.

Honestly for pistol round I don’t think anyone would argue otherwise, but as the game continues the backup higher armor pen of the p2k comes in handy for 2 tap heads, especially if you’re the type of person who likes the Glock over the USP on pistol round. Wish I could switch mid-game

What the frick happened to the LEM trigger between the USP/P2000 and the p30 though. Why did the reset get so damn long?

i bought a brand new one for about 700 dollars a few years ago. It has an ambidextrous mag release so you can either use your thumb or finger on it. I only run the really dirty steel ammo through it. It actually stovepiped the first few rounds I shot it but it is cool i like it

One of the best, theres nothing wrong with it. I'm still holding out for a P30 compact though. I like the extended paddles.

    >Is the P2000 still a good handgun?
Yeah, it's "good" depending on caliber and trigger option. I like the original LEM in .40. For whatever reason I could shoot tight groups with that one at 50 yards. I sold it and when I replaced it with a 9mm, could not shoot it as well. They also changed the trigger which may be why. The DA/SA with dewienerer is not what the LEM was. The LEM was constantly wienered DOA where the trigger only engaged the spring and seer at the very end of a long pull. People not familiar with it would think they had pulled it all the way and it was in error, nope just had a ridiculously heavy break at the end of a ridiculously long pull.

Today the p2000 has 2 major shortcomings.
First, the reset is very long. This makes finding a good rhythm for rapid fire much harder.
Secondly, it's huge for 12 round capacity but I think 12 is honestly plenty so whatever on that.

It's a good gun but I would not call it the current best option.

P2000 is a great handgun OP. Easy to shoot, super easy to carry with the texture on the grip, and fits the hand really nice, at least in my experience. If you like DA/SA you'll love this gun!

To a certain point, gun is gun. A 1911, a pistol designed 113 years ago still kills. And anyway, HK designed it, it's probably pretty damn good.

Great pistol, more ergonomic from the factory than a USP. The compact version and the subcompact version of this pistol is still the smallest duty guns HK makes.

Been carrying LEM version to for work for years with no issues.

It is the standard issue for the USA Border Patrol and it has no problem killing the illegals when they get a little rowdy crossing huehueheu
