what will Russians do once Ukraine gets another batch of 500 suicide qudrocopters. According to Russians themselves some units during offensive lost 100% of their troop vehicles to those things. You can't outrun them, hide from them, jam them or shoot them down. they slice right through BMP or BTR

Last I heard the, the drone support guys hadn't managed to get their anti-armour grenades below 1.5kg and 1kg was the maximum viable payload for air-dropped grenades.

Your news sounds like it's from 2016, unless you're talking about a strictly specific drone and warhead.
Even Russian have loitering munitions with 1kg HEAT warheads since 2019.

I'm sure they're more sluggish with a heavy grenade strapped to them, but those little buggers are insanely fast and maneuverable with a skilled pilot.

    >>what will Russians do once Ukraine gets another batch of 500 suicide qudrocopters

What they should do is spend $20/unit for a sound-based drone detector which tells a group that a drone is in the vicinity. Humans may not detect a drone but a machine can provided the drone flies under a mile.

Then drop another $5k for a cheap manpads specifically designed to kill drones.

And this would negate quads and reduce losses while improving morale. Of course they won't do this, it would make too much sense.

That would require more research and manufacturing power than Russia has, while simultaneously requiring around 10% of current Russian corruption.

I could have a prototype to them by Valentine's Day.

Low and slow impulse motor. Wire guidance using an open sight. Command detonation with tungsten frag war head. Guts of one cellphone.

Once detector cues, operator puts bead sight near drone and triggers launch. Operator flies the missle toward drone.Because low impulse sustainer motor, thrust vectoring. When operator senses proximity, he hits the trigger a second time and detonates the warhead. Cheap enough a unit can have several ready to go. With experience, an operator can enjoy a good success rate. I can build a prototype, the russians have better resources than me.

(only works on small quads and light loitering munitions)

It's easier than making a quad that drops ordnance and returns to base. It has deficiencies, of course. But it's cheap enough to field in quantity.

Nothing. If an operator cannot see an actual drone, or it's not a quad type, he cannot use the weapon. Same as before.

    >>Even 5.45 would wreck them no?

You have to register a hit. The Armenians tried and failed. Ukies and Russies try and are failing.

They're hard to hit, and some quads can continue to fly with loss of a prop.

if you actually bother to watch the video you can see that at 1:19 they take fire from off screen at their flank
the 2 guys coming in from front were not the main attack force. their main fortifications were already flanked and the actually the only thing they could do in this situation was to GTFO
