Is it a stretch to say the 75th is just as capable if not more so than the SEALs in nearly all land operations?

You seem to be confused as to what "specialization" means.

I mean sure, but in practice? You gotta remember there was a shortage of SOF in the mid 2000s, anyone that could kick in doors was pushed through. Tier 1 and tier 2 were more or less doing identical things for 15 years.

75th is a hammer, Seals are a scalpel for maritime/brownwater ops

Rangers are essentially very elite regular infantry. They have heavy weapons and more guys and a different mission than the SEALs.
This an apples to kumqats argument.

      >Different mission
SEALs spent the entire GWOT leaning really hard into that "and Land" part of their namesake. Other than anti piracy shit off the coast of and around Somalia, and probably some sneaky shit in Yemen, seems like they were largely operating as undersized and less capable infantry platoons. In my admittedly highly ignorant and almost entirely worthless opinion, they need to get back to their UDT roots and stop dicking around in land warfare shit so much. There's plenty of other units better organized for that, but no other unit that can fulfill their UDT role at the scale the teams are equipped to do it at, even if those other units have dive qualified teams of their own.

The SEALS don't care about UDT because it won't get them a book deal.

USMC SOF & SEALs need to be amalgamated. Selection should be available only to those already serving with 75% of applicants being marines & 25% sailors.

Green Beret found out about criminal activity (stealing money from a discretionary fund) being conducted by SEALs and told them he had to report them. So the SEALs murdered him and then lied about. 2 SEALs from SEAL team 6 ended up being charged with the murder.
tldr, SEALs are absolute scumfrick morons that only care about book deals, glory, and their own image at the expense of everything and everyone else, including their brothers in arms. Vile fricking cucks

The Rangers job is to go far behind enemy lines, lose 75% of their men to casualties, call in Air Force close support when the mission inevtiably goes to shit, get evacuated, get their backs and knees blown the frick out in the process, then serve out the rest of their contract in a regular line unit looking like a geriatric cripple at the ripe old age of 25.

Rangers fight in bigger groups so that automatically makes them better.

That's basically like comparing scouts and infantry. One works in small elements at the front line trace or behind enemy lines to do recon, gather intel, call for fire without getting spotted or decisively engaged. Rangers are typically full size platoons or companies with enough numbers and firepower to kill the enemy in direct action. That's why they're the QRF for when SF and seals get in trouble.

seals are military swat teams. Ranger mission is recon and sustaining itself in positions where logistics aren't ideal.
