He is dressed like a desert storm operator guarding a general. He converted to Judaism for his ex-wife that he still simps over. However, he actually experienced combat in Vietnam and will fight for what he believes in... not k.

Just like the majority of Americans in the military at the time, Walter never went to ‘Nam.

Damn, learned something new. The character was based off a friend who never served but acted tough. So I guess he really is K material.

Script aside, I think Walter did serve in Vietnam. He was just so deep in friendly territory as a cook or truck driver that he never saw combat outside of the Tet Offensive. So he talks a big game about his service, but it's mostly to cover up for the fact he feels like he did nothing to prevent the loss. He does have an army jacket with his name on it and Walter doesn't seem like the type to do stolen valor. He can be pathetic, but I don't think he would stoop so low in that way.

Probably an enthusiast, but probably doesn't understand computers well enough to make it past '98 Internet Explorer.

I've always liked the theory that Walter was a POG over inflating his role in Nam. Its not like other Vietnam era veterans are gonna stop him (Stolen Valor shit is more of a gwot era obession ) .
