Be Private Dumbshit McGee, guarding some building in ass end nowhere.
Be Deputy Wiseass Ballson, you deal with blacks who larp as rap music video cast members. You defend yourself from one of these upstanding members of society. Your damn is dragged through the mud. Your family is doxxed. Your life is ruined and you go to jail.
That's fricking hilarious, but now a lot of the "a cop's job is sooooo dangerous" takes makes sense if people actually take their statistics and give it to them. Cops are such fricking pansies. I actually believe police academy should include full BCT, because very one looks so small and helpless in a room full of vets no matter how decked they are.
>Be Deputy Wiseass Ballson, you deal with blacks who larp as rap music video cast members.
Most cops don't even do that unless they live in the dirty dirty you fricking suburbanite.
>defend yourself
Let's be clear here little piggy, you enforce the laws that put people in jail, and don't go muh violence, most people are in prison due to drug possessions or lack of payment towards child support.
I doubt there's too many gang bangers now a days. >t.from a family of cops and military.
Less dangerous than pizza delivery.
Choke on that boot you're kissing.
>defend yourself

A buddy of mine in the 90s delivered pizzas in Richmond Virginia, and he had to get a gun to protect himself from a certain percentage of the population.
Being a delivery driver is more dangerous than both.
I knew a few people who became cops. They were decent, if skittish and nervous guys for the most part. In two years they were total c**ts, cop culture is poisonous.
>In two years they were total c**ts, cop culture is poisonous.
Two of my uncles are cops. They are great until certain things get brought up in conversation, and then they both immediately revert to their POS dickwad cop "my word is the law" personalities and get all butthurt when I tell them to calm their fricking breasts and stop being pigs.
It's such a pain in the fricking ass.
Like what are you going to do motherfricker, taze me at thanksgiving because I don't appreciate your bullshit?
I keep having to remind these frickers that when I turned 17 and got my driver's license, both of them, individually at different times, pulled me aside and said "Do NOT EVER trust the police if they pull you over. Admit nothing, wait for a lawyer, etc."
sort of you only get called when there is a crime so criminals are going to be criminals. join the highway patrol. get your rotorcraft license and fly a helicopter.
no I did a criminology course in college and being a police officer isnt remotely dangerous. The whole "hero" thing is a gigantic meme too. I think being an insurance adjuster was up there along with construction worker.
Being in the military is the fifth deadliest job in the USA, behind loggers, fishermen, power line workers, and airline pilot. Police don't even crack the top ten.
no I did a criminology course in college and being a police officer isnt remotely dangerous. The whole "hero" thing is a gigantic meme too. I think being an insurance adjuster was up there along with construction worker.
If cops’ jobs aren’t that dangerous, why do we always hear about it?
Because Cop Unions have a lot of political power, and political power means you get the media to run constant bullshit about the valiant heroism of American cops, who actually spend most of their time eating donuts in a squad car and showing up 30 minutes late to 911 calls.
cops are also able to take action to reduce the danger whereas a lot of people just frick up on their job which leads to danger. cops in my city have switched to a risk-adverse response for pretty much everything. they run two cops per car almost all the time now, no solos. treat everyone as if they're dangerous and out to get you. point your gun as necessary. call for backup on wanted vehicles and building searches. my particular city also has a no-car-chase policy so bystanders don't get injured, which means cops won't get hurt in chases either. also means the criminals know that no one is going to chase their asses to catch them as long as they don't do something moronic like ramming a cop car repeatedly, which recently happened. that one triggered a chase around the city.
on that note, the criminals have learned that if they don't do anything moronic when they're getting arrested, they'll be put in jail for a minute and then let go. probably get the charges dropped too. that also helps the cops' safety. less resisting arrest since they know nothing is going to happen to them legally.
if you guessed i live in a blue city, you're right. another reason why the cops are risk adverse.
Right, the point is just that comparing all deaths on the job (mostly preventable accidents) instead of murders to try and prove being a cop isn't a dangerous job doesn't really make sense. It is a dangerous job but they have all sorts of training and resources to deal with the danger that someone like a taxi driver or gas station clerk who has to face the same or even higher level of danger doesn't have.
they also seem to learn better from their mistakes. something fricked up happens? new policy/rule comes out and the cops get drilled on it. meanwhile osha rules exist for reasons, but people are going to ignore those rules regardless of the possible consequences.
>two man cars are a recent development
It fricking boggles my mind when I watch police bodycam videos and see the officer is alone. They should never ever have been alone in the first place, I can't fricking believe America
it more a thing for small town depts who don't have a lot of people on duty because of money and one guy has to cover a shitload of territory. backup might be miles away, if there's any at all. granted most of the time one person is sufficient. when shit finally happens, one sucks
Because (just like the army) there is a small portion of cops that actually do dangerous work who get completely lionized by the public. If you are working undercover to bust a heroine kingpin, yeah you are doing really dangerous work that could frick you up for the rest of your life. But a vast majority of cops are not doing that type of work.
Being a police officer is less dangerous than being a pizza delivery boy, by a very wide margin. Thin Blue Line, Back the Blue etc are fricking cucks that are out of touch with reality and would literally kick dogshit off a cop's boot.
Depends: if you are currently doing covert operations in Ukraine no, the army is more dangerous, of course unless you are in Detroit than you better pray.
Yeah. I would think so. The very last person anyone would want to walk in and shoot anybody would be the military. Either you're so corrupt everyone wants you gone that they'd trust some dumb redneck to come deal with this bullshit instead of you settling it fair or honestly.
You're more likely to die in a car crash than get shot. Lots of police die in car accidents by merely being on the road so much often in built up areas with 4 way intersections.
>Is being a police officer really more of a dangerous job than being in the army?
Depends where.
In the USA being a cop is very dangerous.
But not as dangerous as being a cop in Mexico.
In the USA it varies greatly depending on if you're in a white or black area. Rich or poor also plays a role.
Also depends if the USAis actively fighting a conflict.
Iraq is stable, Afghanistanis over, Syria has been over for a whole.
So americans are still fighting terrorism but there isn't much of a intense conflict going on right now, it's mostly support for Ukraine and drone strikes in shithole muslim countries.
This question varies from year to year.
If you offered me a Police job in Vermont, I would love it there.
If you offered me the same position but in south side Chicago, I would rather go fight in a shithole muslim country than do that.
At least in the army I can call in an airstrike or backup.
Being a cop is so dangerous because everyone has cameras , including the officers themselves, so if you even say the wrong thing you could become the next "bad cop" in the news.
SandBlack folk can't really do much against you physically, or legally or socially, if you kill one of them, the entire country won't go up in flames because of it.
Blacks will destroy an entire city if a cop dares defend himself from AK fire with his little service pistol 9mm.
In the army it's the opposite.
So it depends on where exactly you're gonna be a cop, or where you get deployed in the military.
You could be a pilot dropping bombs on shitskins or piloting a death-from-above drone.
Could be worse.
>SandBlack folk can't really do much against you physically, or legally or socially, if you kill one of them, the entire country won't go up in flames because of it.
Sure thing, white boy.
Those Muslims are still bombing out Europeans.
Are you just upset no one cares about the twin towers falling? Fricking boomer.
Cops are some of the biggest fricking homosexuals around. Why does anyone even remotely want to associate with them half the time? Nobody smiles or cheers with joy when the cops show up.
just to be clear I mean raw and unedited. Many sites it gets cut as he walks over to the bodies like here: https://www.wfsb.com/2022/10/17/graphic-video-body-cam-video-released-bristol-shooting/

Vast majority of serving members of the armed forces aren't in combat zones, let alone combatants
NAPAs kill more Americans than Jihadis, so you do the math.
I fricking hate cops. “Blue lives matter” people are scum.
Some cops are alright, but many if not most are buttholes. Unfortunately, I think we are better with a police force than without one.
Being a delivery driver is more dangerous than both.
I knew a few people who became cops. They were decent, if skittish and nervous guys for the most part. In two years they were total c**ts, cop culture is poisonous.
Sounds like they were always total c**ts, but they couldn't act like it until they had a badge and a gun.

>insurance kills you
kek
yeah had to get my ribs screwed together because of construction concrete blowout.
And working on an oil rig is more dangerous still, there is nothing noble about putting yourself at risk in exchange for money.
We are in a peace time military, so yes.
Statistically, it's not even close.
Being in the military is the fifth deadliest job in the USA, behind loggers, fishermen, power line workers, and airline pilot. Police don't even crack the top ten.

There is a difference between getting your head cracked open because you weren't wearing your hard hat and someone coming to your job to murder you.
cops are also able to take action to reduce the danger whereas a lot of people just frick up on their job which leads to danger. cops in my city have switched to a risk-adverse response for pretty much everything. they run two cops per car almost all the time now, no solos. treat everyone as if they're dangerous and out to get you. point your gun as necessary. call for backup on wanted vehicles and building searches. my particular city also has a no-car-chase policy so bystanders don't get injured, which means cops won't get hurt in chases either. also means the criminals know that no one is going to chase their asses to catch them as long as they don't do something moronic like ramming a cop car repeatedly, which recently happened. that one triggered a chase around the city.

Cops have a strong incentive to mislead everyone about their heroism and there's a culture of cop worship in America in certain demographics.
Because (just like the army) there is a small portion of cops that actually do dangerous work who get completely lionized by the public. If you are working undercover to bust a heroine kingpin, yeah you are doing really dangerous work that could frick you up for the rest of your life. Because they won't shut the frick up about it. They're obsessed with the whole "thin blue line standing between order and chaos" shtick.
It's a mystery.
i wanna frick that rabbit
No anthro?
Judy is a rabbit from a movie called zootopia, it features anthropomorphic animals in a city
What a weirdo. That rabbit doesn't even have a gun.
Depends on your MOS.
>infantry
Frick no.
>Motor-T Avi
Full of injuries and accidents, full of suicides due to shit NCO's and commands.

Being a police officer's wife is much more dangerous than both.
Underrated.
farmer or forest industry worker more dangerous than either
Cops are some of the biggest fricking homosexuals around. Why does anyone even remotely want to associate with them half the time? Nobody smiles or cheers with joy when the cops show up.
Being a fireman, fisherman, a tree logger, or even a sanitation jockey is more dangerous and even more beneficial to society than being in the army.
Anyone have the footage of Nicholas Brutcher getting shot? He ambushed 3 cops and killed 2.
