For me, anything that has a safety, decocker, or a hammer/striker you can manipulate is far much superior than a Glock, even if it's a Hi-Point. Of course, I learned to always eject the mag and rack the slide to clear it, and carry it Austrian style.
>easy to operate >ergonomic >feels right to handle >feels right to shoot >just enough rounds to easily keep track of without having to actively count them
It's basically the perfect gun.
is accidentally shooting yourself while unholstering this common or is this game just fucking with me
as a noguns trying to play this game convinced me even more that the 1911 is the only firearm worth owning
It’s literally not common, maybe with certain sig striker fired pistols because they lack a criticla safety on the firing pin but a Glock for example will not fire unless the trigger is pulled.
You counteract this by not touching your god damn trigger. Ofc if you have a shit leather holster, you can accidentally pull the trigger, but that’s about it.
You unholster a pistol with your hand in an open V, on your thumb and index.
Basically, it's fucking with you.
Pulling the "Look at this thing other people don't pay attention to, aren't we special for being different?" card is more effective when you blow it out of proportion.
Drawing a weapon and shooting or reloading it can be done quickly without effort is attainable pretty easily. Games try to replicate 'realistic' guns but you end up playing a game as a black female police officer
You're missing the point: the whole ethos of the game is about consciousness, as in "being conscious of your actions". I believe the annoying Glock leg in the game serves as a game mechanic to enforce the narrative, i.e. be conscious and aware of every and each of your own actions. The time you absent-mindedly holster the gun, you get a Glock leg. An argument could be made that it should be extended to all guns, if that's entirely the case, but then we'd be arguing about ADing guns that even in theory can't give you a Glock leg.
The real complaint for this game is the revolvers. absolutely arsenene that the cylinders are randomly blocked, without adding anything interesting to gameplay. The semi autos malfunctioning is cool because it makes you clear a malfunction, but the revolver blockage just means you need to pull the trigger again. They could at least have made it so revolvers have a higher chance of failure-to-fire, instead of sticking you with a revolver with a 4 round capacity. Its legitimately more fun to just reload the game if you get stuck with a shit gun
the canon answer is that mindkill makes unlikely situations occur more often. that's why guns malfunction so much.
God I love Receiver but I probably won't play it ever again, it's one of those games that don't let you do anything but be 100% invested in it all the time you're playing it.
I would play it if they made it more interesting. the second one really isn't that much of a step up from the first in terms of gameplay, and the 'rank up/rank down' mechanic just gets annoying
i just wish the enemy design was more interesting than >robot that rushes you
and >robot that flies at you
a game like with smart, humanoid enemies that actually took cover and maneuvered intelligently but had receiver's mechanics would be leagues ahead.
but then again these are the people that made a furry game for the sole reason that making the characters human would be too 'violent'
i think as long as you made them relatively vulnerable they wouldn't be OP.
center mass or headshot would kill them, limb shot would maybe wildly throw off their aim or cause them to collapse for a few seconds

It’s the reverse.
Holstering your gun has more chances of AD than unholstering (something getting caught on the trigger), unless your trigger finger goes instantly for the trigger when you unholster. The most famous example being those serpa holsters + glock due to you needing to actuate a lever with your trigger finger on the holster to release the gun, but the position of this button lever makes it so when you draw, your finger is already close to the trigger and in that one infamous video, some people will draw and that trigger finger will naturally land right onto the trigger.
It's common if you own a Glock or Sig. If you have a normal gun with an external hammer and a safety then it's near impossible.
as a noguns trying to play this game convinced me even more that the 1911 is the only firearm worth owning
>well balanced
>3 different safety features
>8 rounds
>Simple no-bullshit design
>easy to maintain
>kills the body and soul
You're goddamn right!

Back to back world war champion, baby

This. Realism=/=clunky mechanics

The dude literally tells you it's the Threat fucking with your luck.
The threat makes guns more prone to malfunctioning.
The game is fucking with you, headcanon it as the mindkill affecting you if you like.

shame no mods for receiver 2 like the first one with shotgun and rifle
i just wish the enemy design was more interesting than

wouldn't enemies like that be too op?

*BEEP*
>Bend the barrel with a shot
>Stand in front of it
>Die by ricochet
Hello? Friend.
You are black in this game
But you are a literal target practice dummy so it's alright
In the original game, you were able to have a nice day by accident but not from drawing your weapon if I recall.
It’s the reverse.

Glock leg is surprisingly common among cops.
