1lb cranberries, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup red wine. Cook over medium until the cranberries have popped and the mixture thickens. It will continue thickening as a it cools so you want to pull it while it's still a little more runny than you want in the final product. Personally I add two cinnamon sticks, some orange zest, and finish with a little lime juice for mine.

Most bags of cranberries you find in the store come in 12-14oz instead of 16oz, but the recipe still works.

Canned cranberry sauce is basically just cranberry jello and really shouldn't be compared to homemade cranberry sauce, which is basically cranberry jam, as they're two very different products.

The "shall not be infringed" is not the part anyone has trouble with. Its the "A well regulated Militia" part that some people find baffling.

            Anonymous

"well-regulated" means "well-equipped," and the right belongs to the People, not the Militia. It's a semantic debate favored by gun grabbers, who shouldn't be debated with to begin with.

              Anonymous

No, well-regulated means well-regulated. Choosing words mean things they don't say is moronic. Making stupid statements like what you just shit out of your mouth only helps the grabbers.

                Anonymous

That's what I'm saying though? When they said "well regulated" they did not mean what we mean today when we say something is "regulated." They meant well equipped and trained. Not controlled and overseen by the state. Justices have concluded that this is what they meant. Anyone reading the things Thomas Jefferson said on the subject can conclude this. It's irrelevant what the weapons are. The people have a right to them.

                >They meant well equipped and trained.
Yeah, you're not gonna be very popular with the pro-gun crowd if you suggest we make a nation-wide requirement out of that.

The amendment doesn't mandate training, it restricts the government's ability to disarm you.

                Anonymous

It doesn't matter jack shit what it means. It's an explanation (we set up this right for this reason) which has zero bearing on the postulation itself. "shall not be infringed". Which is really as clear as it fricking gets.

I don't debate with gun grabbers. I vote against them, I don't compromise, and I make arguments based on emotion (ie - working arguments). You'll never get as far debating a comma as posting a fat, lazy cop hiding while someone gets murdered or mentioning that a Californian Senator who owned a gun helped sell them to the cartels while trying to ban them from citizen use. I also like to bring up the racial dynamics of gun prohibition and if the idiot is stupid enough to engage with it I just call them a racist.

              Anonymous

It's not, but that doesn't matter because the only thing they ever have to push for what they want is moronic semantic arguments. Anyone actually interested in interpreting what the founders meant when they wrote that can simply read all the letters and essays they wrote talking about why it's there and what their intention was. But they won't do that, and even if they do it won't change their mind because they're still scared of common people being able to defend themselves and not needing the state to be their daddy.

              explicitly this

Necessary? Probably only in some incredibly specific circumstance. I think owning tons of guns is cringe beyond belief, BUT “necessity” doesn’t really factor in to my interpretation of 2A. It’s a right and people will exercise it the way they choose, regardless of what I think. I’m fine with a high-quality handgun, a high-quality rifle and a high-quality shotgun and that’s all I’ll ever have.
