Supposed to but then it was turned into Yaks because Russia needs the aircraft themselves.

They have F-14s, F-4 Phantoms, Mig 29s, Su-24s, and are supposed to even have some Su-35s. Not sure what you're on about, homosexual.

The US lost almost 10,000 aircraft during the Vietnam War. The breakdown:

578 UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles) or drones
        5,607 helicopters
        3,744 planes

If we include the US AND its ALLIES, the total aircraft losses during the Vietnam war were around 12,500 UAVs, helicopters and planes. The allies were the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), South Korea, Australia, Thailand and NZ.

North Vietnam aircraft losses were less than 200.

yak-130 (or modernized clean sheet of same config) is what USA and even NATO should standardize on as USAF/USN trainer, but also utility 2nd string combat aircraft.

Mostly as stand-off missile truck to just "be there" when you really don't need an F-35 Hanger Queen to be burning hours. Make it also "optionally manned" and disposable at radar/A2A missile picket and light tanker, and even ASW with buoys and lightweight torps.

That's what the XQ-58 is going to be for, it's cheaper than a Yak-130 while being unmanned and much much stealthier
