Moscow had specifically asked for precision surface to surface short-range Fateh 110 and Zolgayhar missiles, and the shipment will happen in a maximum of 10 days, said another Iranian diplomat.

Russia's domestic production was built upon foreign components, goods, and machines. There's a reason the US government throws an autistic fit if even a single bolt involved in a weapon system comes from China, and it's not just because they want pork for Congress's districts. There's also the fact that any major war has you shooting faster then you can build anyway, which is the point of stockpiles, but that's not the major cause here.

What a timeline : Iran providing weapons to Russia, weapons that are more capable and functional than those produced by Russia itself

      Anonymous

Thats not whats happening. Russia could bring in the s-400 if it wanted to but this is a war of attrition. They are fighting Nato through proxy. Nato is using Ukrainians as cheap fodder. Russia can't risk expensive equipment. This is a different type of unexpected war by both Russia and the US. To prepare for war in the long term you want to have the best equipment but it's expensive, no point spending money to blow up something that cost less than what it took to destroy it. The Iranians have had to take a risk and build something cheap and effective as they have their own unique situation which has forced them to overcome and punch above their weight to survive. The US has the exact opposite problem as Iran, they have equipment that has taken trillions to build and is therefore too valuable to risk in many situations. US missiles can upto or more 2 million dollars each, and are as effective as a $20,000 drone making them obsolete except for protecting high value assets.

yes. Iran made a range of ballistic missiles that can carry larger warheads (including nukes). This was part of their nuclear hedger strat (similar to what Japan did) in that they determined that making it 95% of they way to having a nuke is 95% as effective as owning one. So they have all these ballistic missiles ready to be fitted with nuclear warheads but in the meantime they're fitted with conventional. They wouldn't sell these for Russia, those are part of their own national security. They'll sell drones and smaller missiles

Iran got btfo by goat farmers in Syria and inept Russia has to save them. Then they got humiliated bad by US in the whole soleimani fiasco

However the regime has spent most of its resources to finance foreign adventures, from Hamas rocketing apartment buildings to colonialism in Lebanon to the endless unwinnable situation in Yemen. It had an entire armed wing (the irgc) b designed to both engage in foreign interventions and put down any civilian resistance to these costly endeavors. The cost of these endeavors has been enormous cost of them however has still created an economic crisis in Iran where basic food is scarce and there are fuel shortages in an OPEC country

Iran has violent protests every other year. The regime is on borrowed time and funding Russias war in Ukraine now will only create further problems and achieve nothing besides killing Ukrainian civilians.

And how would you do that exactly? Iran and Russia share a maritime border and it's a fricking lake.

      >USA does it it's called collateral damage
because they don't intent to really kill civilians even if they don't give a frick about them. That may not be a difference for the poor people caugh in a missile strike, but it is for the US military and the way it operates. The US hasn't done actual "terror bombings" since Serbia, and those were nothing like WW2 or Cambodia.
      >These strikes were used against utilities to keep Ukraine in the dark and it worked.
No it didn't. They did damage but the ukie civilians still have mostly working utilites. It's easy to find videos from Kiev with people still with water and electricity.

      > because they don't intent to really kill civilians even if they don't give a frick about them.

Israel's periodic wars against Gaza between the 2000s and 2010s were absolutely meant to kill civilians indiscriminately, including buildings full of people. Thousands died in each one of those "operations".

Not exactly. Every time US and Britain took a city they knocked out power first. Baghdad was without water for months.
Israel did the same when fighting Hezbollah in 2006. They bombed all the bridges, highways, utilities, anything of economic value. This is how war is fought in 21st century. It's why Iran and Israel will never go to war because either side will target power (and therefore water) first. It's a human catastrophe waiting to happen.

      > It's why Iran and Israel will never go to war because either side will target power (and therefore water) first. It's a human catastrophe waiting to happen.

Israel wants the US to go to war with Iran on its behalf.
But one things more certain is that Israel can't even go to war with Hezbollah anymore. Not only because they lost the last time, but because now they'll have drones targeting their power and water infrastructure. They'll stick with the economic warfare and espionage.

If Russia can use Iranian tech on Ukraine soils, Ukraine can use USA tech on Russians soils.

no they weren't. Beirut wasn't spared any of the bombing despite Hezbollah were all down South. Israel used it as an opportunity to totally the lebanese economy. Even israeli general called it "mowing the grass" in the context of keeping them back.

Clearly if they are selling them.
Need to remember that Iran has been dealing with sanctions for decades. They are the reason Hezbollah knows how to make sewer pipe missiles and being able to access China made parts such as moped engines means that Iran can make more sophisticated (in comparison) units that vastly undercut the market average.
Sure they aren't as good as an actual western or Turkish drone but a $20k loitering munition with a 200kg explosive warhead is a scary prospect when you can build 500 of them for the cost of a modern MBT and 5000 of them for the cost of modern fighter jet.
I wouldn't be shocked if Uncle Xi starts fielding them soon enough since they've proved very effective in Russia's ISIS wannabe campaign.
