                > satellite brainlet detected

In terms of actual power, this is the only list that matters

Both rok and japan are milsat-lets but to the credit of south korea they have recognized this and are launching three more in the next year or so, this would at least place them within spitting distance of say a spain or uk but still manlet tier...the japs on the other hand have about as much space power as thailand, greece or turkey

                Anonymous

Yeah, SK is indeed turdworld-tier in both civilian and military satellites, still has a hard time putting even a tiny experimental satellite into orbit on its own, relying on foreign satellite launch services like SpaceX.

Japan on the other is a major player, operates 200+ satellites, of which at least 8-9 are operational "Information Gathering Satellites" which is a legit military spy satellite system in all but name consisting of optical and radar satellites (to monitor Korean peninsula 24/7 lol) so your list is wrong.
                https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_Gathering_Satellite

They launch all the satellites by themselves, and not just that they've been a major contributor to the International Space Station from the beginning, from construction to resupply missions, have their own module Kibo/Hope there, and are contributing to the Lunar Gateway in the same way again, that's why they are part of manned moon landing missions.

As for 'planned' military satellites, Japan is working on a constellation of 50 satellites to detect and track HGV, and a couple of other monitoring satellites too, which will be operational in a few years, easily pushing up the number of military satellite to 60+, good luck with your tryhard asiatic milsat program lol

Japan also has a 10 ton class domestic launch vehicle with a 47/48 success record while Lesser Korea's domestic rockets are a 0.1 ton class at 1/3 success and a 1 ton at 2/3. JAXA also has a Venus orbiter and a mostly-successful lunar lander. There really isn't any metric by which the japs aren't blowing the asiatics the frick out in space.

Japan has two military satellites and none planned, the two are not even proper milsats

South Korea has two proper milsats at or above US/nato levels, three more planned in next two years, 5 real milsats is actually a lot for any nation

                > bringing up sat metrics that don’t mean shit for milsats

This moron has no clue what differentiates a milsat from a commercial sat

Information Gathering Satellites are for all intents and purposes military satellites, a literal military grade space based reconnaissance system dedicated to monitoring military activities in Korea and China, missile/nuclear activities in NK in particular. The only reason it's sometimes not counted as military is because it belongs to the Cabinet instead of the JSDF, a scheme needed to appease the sensitive pacifistic public opinion of the time. Also even this list is incomplete, fails to include IGS optical 6 and 7. Combined with dual-use ones, Japan operates something like a dozen of military satellites as of now no matter what names those are referred to as, and their new constellation is military monitoring/targeting satellites as well.

The entire japanese financial-economic system is essentially controlled by the US and the US proxies, the emperor of japan today is effectively rahm Emmanuel, the commander in chief is effectively the paccom commander, extraterritoriality is imposed on the japanese...even the f35 mro in japan is a joke, did you know that the japanese/mitsubishi can't even change a screw or change the oil without the express consent of the US? WW2 is was the definitive war that established the current world order, the only problem is that the great powers (US, UK, France, Russia, China) have split into two factions, maybe 2.5 factions with France playing both sides...a country like japan is an occupied colony with absolutely ZERO decision making capabilities permitted by any japanese blooded individual...let that sink in weeb

Mr Scrooge McDuck level skinflint. They might have gotten in from the Dutch. So, my maid will reduce the spices and ingredients in the cooking to the minimum. When I told her to stop doing it, she says it is to save money, despite it was me who bought the ingredients and it is for our consumption, not for selling. My point is, the Indons did the espionage not because they're "evil" but because they thought they could save some Rupiahs by doing it. t.Malaysian.

I was wondering what the consequences would be.

Bloody fools. It means a key player will be under strength if we can't find some alternative.

      Global hegemon: US

Inner circle good allies: UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Korea, Israel

Proper allies but not quite in the inner circle: Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece/Turkey, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland

Castrated/buck broken forced to be allies under pain of another beatdown at the slightest hint of uppityness: Japan, Germany

Spared the castrated/buck broken treatment simply because (accurately) perceived to be about as potent as Iraq or Ethiopia: Italy

If I remember correctly the story goes like this - Indonesia uses Russian tech in this military, and the KF-21 contains top tier US tech under export restrictions which they aren't allowed to sell to Indonesia. Indonesians wanted their own version of the plane where they could do import substitution, but Korea refused. So Indonesians get literal half-planes with no way to modify them to be usable, which made them nope the frick out.
