In the future Russian glide bombs will mostly be launched beyond the range of Patriot and AIM-120 missiles.

In the future Russian glide bombs will mostly be launched beyond the range of Patriot and AIM-120 missiles. Ukraine will still win the war they will just have to counterattack in spite of air strikes like armies did in WW2.

Glide bombs lose their precision if lobbied far enough. It doesn't help that the Ukrainians are fixing to get their restrictions to strike within russian borders soon.

It was always going to come down to that eventually. Ziggers aren't going to quit until their industrial base is ashes. Only real question is if will NATO be smart and kill them all immediately or wait for monke to chimp the frick out and try a land grab against the Baltics like he's clearly planning to do.

This. Monke is also convinced his nook threats are still working perfectly against the west and that nobody will fight him directly as long as he takes just a little piece of land. And when it works, he'll take another. And so on. He'll just repeat the same tactic until he and his kind are exterminated. TZD isn't the preferred solution to the zigger question, it's the ONLY solution.

You need to arm your morons if you intend for them to do anything, and means to transport them. This isn't an RTS.

I'm long past thinking that is the case, look at Putin trying to take Kyiv two years ago with a column of riot police. The war probably won't start this year but 2025 or 2026 are not off the books

It's obviously mostly junk but you can still attack with enough manpower and junk. Russia isn't going to win but I don't think they care

NTA, but I can see the Russians being moronic enough to believe that "The West has given all their ammo to Ukraine, so they can't defend themselves" propaganda line they've been saying for a while, so it's possible they'll go for a massive infantry bumrush that'll get obliterated by the Scandi airforce alone with the rest of us getting there in time for the follow-up curb-stomping of the survivors.
If the Russians feel like they are at a breaking point, then doing this also lets them trumpet on TV and write down in their history books that they lost to NATO, and not Ukraine.

These are glide bombs which didn't see large use in WW2 and are much harder to make.

During WW2 you dropped something like 8000 bombs during a single air raid on a city. On a good day Russia is lucky to drop 50 FABs across the entire front

      >On a good day Russia is lucky to drop 50 FABs across the entire front
That's a bit low. Zelensky reported that 3000 bombs were dropped in March. There are plans to improve the designs of the glide kits so 6 or 8 bombs can be stacked under a plane instead of 4. The Russians would also like to drop bombs from old Su-24's if they can get more of them operational (they scrapped many of them a couple years ago to their detriment).

You could probably already do that with a FAB glide kit of the plane flew high enough. The CEP would probably just be so ridiculous that you might not even hit the right city

If we assume everything capable of launching them from within Patriot range gets shot down, it makes sense.

OP only mentioned "launching," he didn't say thr target would be hit.

The screenshot from OP is from a Russian MoD press release, so it's immediately bullshit.

A PAC-2 has an official range of 160km (99 miles), so they are going to have to be lobbing this thing from over 180km minimum so the pilot doesn't accidently fly into range whilst manoeuvring away from his pass. Since it's unguided, anything done from this range is going to be as accurate as those helicopter barrages they do where they just yeet them into the air and hope for the best.

The only footage I've seen of the glide bombs in action have demonstrated a worrying level of inaccuracy. They're accurate enough to hit apartment buildings most of the time, but even against the average home they need a few shots to land a hit. I know they're fairly easy for Russia to manufacture, but the battle on the Donetsk axis has demonstrated that while effective, there exists a serious production bottleneck.

Patriot PAC 3. I believe the AIM 120 has a better range for the latest variants, but Ukraine wont be getting those for their F16s. Either way they still have significantly less range than an S400, so they have a lot of SEAD work to do.

Meteor has a longer range than AIM 120. Around 200km. But Ukraine has nothing that can fire it.

just keep droning air fields an it's a non issue. Relying on air to surface weapons for basic bombardement is supremely desperate
