FYI anon you can view footage on leddit without having to make an account. Just replace www with old in the URL and it loads the page in the old interface, which pre-dates the requirement to log in to view certain content.

You don't really aim in the sense you mean while holding a gun. The radar gathers information, the system interprets it and feeds it to the user who them decides whether or not to launch a missile at whatever it is or not.
The quality of the information captured by the radar and the quality of the information processed by the system is the difference between whatever the fuck that is and a real air defense system like NASAMS
This looks like what I picture in my mind when I think AIR-DEFENSE
Radar figures out what it believes to be a target, indicates to the user where it is, and any information like altitude, speed, heading etc. User then uses whatever interface they have to tell the system "Launch a missile at that thing".
Ofc shit tends to get abstract since most the time you don't see what you're shooting down. For instance, a target going from maybe 300km/h at 14k feet suddenly going to 30km/h and rapidly decreasing in altitude has probably been shot down. So you gotta make informed guesses based on the information presented.
