    Zero odds.
If you attack the city they must position AD to stop attacks therefore leaving other locations more open.
You want to look elsewhere for the happening.

they allocated a fresh batch of some thousands of vatniks and started up again yesterday. Remember that they have ~50k bodies to burn before they actually have to stop.
Anyway, all that means that they also moved in new supplies to support them, hence Belgorod is prime to be shat on right now

The "10 km buffer zone" operation failed miserably but russians still have half of vovchansk city and a couple of territories across the border.

            Anonymous

Yeah Belgograd has been a staging ground for this security zone push and ukies havnt really been able to strike as hard there due to limitations for the western weapons. Taking Belgorad, although admittedly would be very funny, wouldn't fit well in the optics of Ukraine fighting a just-war to just regain their territory.

Ukies aren’t “going after” Belgorod. It’s the usual GUR cross-border operation. BTW, the GUR has their own armed forces made up of volunteers (and mercs?) from all over the world to run the ground ops. They also run all those cross-border drone attacks. Basically if it has to do with hitting Russia it’s the GUR, and it’s NOT a small effort either; they have their own command and ops staff, equipment and weapons — those drones hitting inside Russia are all GUR assets. When they make announcements about these ops it’s GUR representatives who make the statements. It’s unclear at what level if at all there is corporation between the UA and GUR. The frontline is 100% UA though if I’m not mistaken. Someone with better info can chime in.

Ukraine has pressure to show that they can get results with what's being sent, if the war stagnates and there isn't anything to show for it then it may be more difficult for western governments to justify aid to their populations, or those nations may lose interest themselves seeing it as a waste of resources or that the conflict is going to freeze. For that specific concern, what an action appears to be is more important than what it actually is. I don't think it's unreasonable to assume that Ukraine considers this in their strategy, considering how reliant they are on the west for war material.

You're right, NATO did win the cold war and brought about the end of the soviet union without firing a shot.

Yes, the 1st and 3rd world consider the 1st world to be the 1st world, while the 2nd world is comprised of those actively escaping to the 1st or those perpetually coping with their inability to do so.

Unlikely, most people would rather die fighting than go back to living in Russia. Even Kazakhstan and what's left of Georgia are talking about joining EU and eventually NATO. Russia is a cancerous growth that should have been cut off after WW2.

These formerly occupied lands have very much benefited from their volunteer membership in NATO, and given how quickly the union dissolved after people were allowed to leave, it's very clear they wanted to for the longest time.
They certainly are winning now, their former masters are almost completely incapable of pushing through poorly manned lines supplemented by 4 decade old handmedowns from the west, or putting a toilet in every home, while they enjoy complete immunity to Russian invasion through their membership in NATO.
They also all boast higher wages, better living standards, and better overall health as a whole.
By all available metrics, the copebelters are objectively on the winning side and desired to be as such for the longest time.

Ukes are definitely retaking Bilhorod as reparations in advance. It will double as a security cordon. We have been tunneling under it for over a year anyway, slowly integrating Bilhorodians into the Ukrainian public health system via an extension of the Ukrainian metro. Over 5000000 teeth saved so far, and downwards trends in cretinism although that might have something to do with all the officers we've killed, Idk.
