I’m trying to enter the lottery for Enchantments and while all of the dates are blue for “available”…none of them are available.
Same thing on my desktop.
Anyone know why it’s like this?
I fucking hate this new system it’s so retarded

>west coast
>get arrested for not hiking without a loicense
but hey at least ur on the best coast eh :^)
literally only applies to maybe a dozen trails in Yosemite and enchantments
there’s thousands of other trails you can hike for free and without a license
it’s how they keep these places pristine
it’s gay but it works for the most part.
Nothing on the east coast compares, which is why permits aren’t required. No one cares about them lol.
Do you have this?
>t.
I literally look at my bedroom window and have a sky of mountain
congratulations, so do I and millions of other people
Looks like Maine
Always wanted to go to Maine but I hear the people are complete cocks
I'm going in the spring; I'll report back.
>do you have this
no cuz it isn't as dry and desolate and there's actually trees
>Washington
>Dry
lmfao
KEK! Your whole country's cucked, isnt it.
This is in your country tho, muttposter
>one park in one massive state in a massive country
>kek! uR wHoLe CoUnTrY iS cUcKeD iSn'T iT
eurocucks are so pathetic lol
only one park until the policy expands and soon almost every reasonably popular park requires advance reservations to visit in 5-10 years
population only grows, this is only going to get worse
also there's multiple places in the west with some combination of lotteries/permits/reservations required to visit
I don't know if it's like this in the USA, but in Canada you can only reserve 6 months in advance. For popular campgrounds in popular parks on popular weekends you have to do your reservations at midnight to be the first one in.
This is exactly why we should do away with lotteries and permits, and instead institute a national fee based recreation pass. If we privatized the administration of public lands it would create jobs, reduce overcrowding, and reduce the federal deficit.
>privatized
>now is 1000$ a year to enter ANY park
great
yes and
I don’t see the problem
keep the poor fag litterbugs and Mexicans out
I'm not european, but you tried I guess
can't hear you over the sound of immigrant cum you keep guzzling eurocuck lol
Walk it back, anon. You're still here
blahblahblah eurotrash can't into basic geography kek
Think it through. You're still
>t.
No one cares about a European’s opinion
I’d tell you to keep them to yourself but you’ll just keep screeching
didn’t the UK completely ban wild camping ? That’ll spread in no time to the rest of your shit hole continent
u have to check the 'caucasian' box, not the 'african american' or 'hispanic' box on the previous page
Bots have scooped up all available permits. If you were a software developer you'd know how to make a bot and have a chance. Maybe post on San Francisco craigslist offering to buy a permit for $500?
It’s a lottery
Rec.gov is operated by a San Francisco investment firm. The lottery is raped by the devs that run it. This isn't a huge secret.
sure is nice here in the east
no lotteries or permits outside of national parks/ADK, just drive, park, walk
just lots of state forests and state park that apparently don't exist to most of you because they aren't federal land :^)
Where the hell did this whole "east vs west" thing come from? We're all fighting for access to public lands. C'mon man.
anons keep insisting the west is much better for "serious hiking" and the east is just for beginners
That's not me though. I lived in Maine and know how burly it can get. The west is cool for sure but I definitely enjoy the east.
It's fags from other boards who likely don't go outside. If it's not "east vs west" then they'll start shitting on Europe, which of course attracts retards like this anon
who don't understand the public land system in the US and don't do any research when coming here, which is fine by me as it relegates them to tourist containment zones, aka National Parks.
What is your problem with national parks?
Would you rather see a strip mall in Yosemite valley?
You’re exactly like the guys in PrepHole who say Rome sucks and should visit some shithole in Eastern Europe instead
A lot of people go to national parks for a reason lol
it doesn’t make you interesting or “more PrepHole“ to think you’re too good for the most gorgeous places on the planet
I don’t have any problems with National Parks and I agree they should be heavily regulated to keep stinky low-lifes from mucking up the place. They are in fact tourist zones though and I like to laugh at the retards thinking a permit system is some sort of “gotcha” when there’s national forests and blm land fucking everywhere.
Pic related is a trip I took in Olympic National Park and no I didn’t need a permit, just drove in and grabbed a campsite
Awesome, I’m hoping to visit Olympic this summer.
I’m from central California and was blown away by Oregon and Washington when I drove up there last year. Would like to move to Portland (I have to live in a city for my job) next year.
I loved it even though everyone on this board despises Portland. Wasn’t a fan of Seattle and Tacoma but I really want to check out Olympic Np
blue ridge mountains suck
ill kek from the top of mount ranier or Whitney while you’re still swatting mosquitos in your glorified Foothills
only after you secure a permit to do that :^)
No problem. It only takes a couple hours of preparation to get one.
We wouldn't have this problem if every acre of federal land was privatized.
what happens if you go without a loicence? do they throw you in jail or something?
No? Lol. You likely won’t even get caught, but if you do they’ll just tell you to leave.
so what's all the fuss about then
It's uncomfortable to be told you aren't supposed to be somewhere. For whatever reason there's a number of "nature preserves" in Ohio where it's a public easement onto private lands (I think), and you are supposed to reserve a pass (free) 14 days ahead of time, at least, for a specific day to visit. Apparently you really can just go anyways, but I guess the system is in place because the preserves are on private land (maybe just in some cases?) so the owners want to sorta scare you away a bit. I never plan hikes that far ahead so I've never been and it kinda sucks.
I hope as I get older, we will move to a less restrictive land access policy more similar to Scotland or some Scandinavian countries have without all this worry of physical removal.
