i'm trying to design the theoretical perfect bedroom layout, or at least find the underlying principles which should be incorporated into any bedroom for optimal performance. you see, my question arises due to my lack of experience with women, and is mostly for anons who have had sex or, ideally, are married. which side of the bed do you sleep on when sleeping with a woman? and also, which side of the bed do you think its optimal for the man to sleep on?
>inb4 "i sleep on [x] side because it's closest to the door"
in a situation where you are adapting to a preexisting room, this would be valid. however, for the sake of finding the ideal side of the bed for a man to sleep on, assume that whichever side you pick, the door will be closest to it and you will be positioned between it and your woman.

please refer to "left" and "right" sides from the perspective of one laying on his back in the bed, as labelled in pic related.

If you sleep on side closest to door, the universe will sense your fear of losing her, and take her by force. Be a man, put her by the door.

Post CT scan proving you have kartagener's syndrome/situs inversus or you're wrong and your stomach is indeed on your left. You can also try ramping your head/chest up with pillows while sleeping on your left to further combat reflux.

The question is about the half of the bed, not body side.
If you are big spoon, right side of the bed, so you can lie on your left side and spoon the little spoon.
Left side if you are little spoon (male).
If you sleep flat and have a woman cuddle up to you, then right side, because frick women, never put their comfort ahead of yours.

This anon gets it. Right side of the bed because I'm the big spoon and like sleeping on my left side. Wife actually sleeps closer to the door but is a much lighter sleeper than i am so she can rouse me if anything is going on.

Seriously though most of the time we fall asleep on the couch watching youtube...

Idea sleeping sides aren't universal, and rely on way more personal variables, like ideal sleeping positions, which differs person-to-person and is not objectively gendered. I don't think you can find universally optimal principles for sleeping positions.

personal sleeping positions have many different possiblities so i would agree there is no ideal. but sleeping position in relation to your woman is an either/or binary. it's like writing with your right hand it. that's the correct hand to write with and left handed people are stupid fools.

Look up Dear Modern on YouTube
Asian architecture student dude that shows tidbits of Feng Shui which is a Chinese interior design philosophy.
He has pretty cool ideas on there.

But answer your question it depends where the bed is relative to the door. The man (or dominant partner if you're a gay) more than typically sleeps on the side closest to the door so that you have a sense of "protecting" your partner and in turn your partner feels more secure.

Seconded. Maybe not popular on the surface in today's environment, but this is how I approach it. No complaints from the grillz, even if I am taking their "traditional" spot.

To add to this for all the other stuff, never put the side of the bed up against the wall if it's meant for two people.
Matching nightstands are ideal but still having one on each side is good.
Try to not make your feet point towards the door (unless the door is in the corner) and also make sure that the majority of your body is not exposed to the way the door opens.

Feng Shui is pretty neat because it has to do with maximizing "good energy" in the bedroom and minimizing "bad energy".
The Chinese communist party banned the entire philosophy because it's superstition.

okay top or bottom in pic related, which one are you going with? you can sleep on the "door side" in both but will end up with your woman on a different side relative to your perspective.

    Left

this is a nonsense question. you sleep on the side you like.

in my old house the door was on my side of the bed. in this house it is on her side.

Have you idiots learned nothing. Placing the bed in the center of the room is a waste of space and non-optimal. Bed belongs in a corner, period.

Women will usually sleep in the exact middle of the bed so it makes no difference to them. I sleep on the right. If spooning it's harder to finish if on my right side/on the left side of the bed than if I'm laying with my left side on the bed. Also I'm right handed and keep the gun leaning against the nightstand.

    S
    P

    E
    R
    E
which you can find plenty of examples in hotels with cabins or tents as gimmick
