The fact that so many people will mourn and direct others to his works, will be the testament to a life well lived.

I've lost 4 older relatives to cancer like this. Their minds are still 100%, their bodies collapse around them. It's crushing to live through. Remember them and their impact as best you can. Pauls leaving a decade of learning behind, and millions of memetic children via his work. Just carry the weight. Pay it forward. All you can do.

Surgery. They cant cure the cancer but they can cut it away. Gives him more time and less discomfort. Cancer kills your cells in essence, how big it gets factors little since benign cancer growths are a thing.

So they broke his hip to cut away some of the cancer? And due to said cancer the hip will never heal so he has a permanently broken hip until he passes from the cancer?

One common treatment for pancreatic cancer is radiation therapy. Which can cause damage to your bones, leading to brittleness. Zapping your pancreatic cancer can lead to weakening of your hip bones on the left side, leading to hip fractures.

When you have terminal cancer, you have terminal cancer. My mother is currently fighting stage 4 lung cancer. Sometimes the treatments go well and can kill the cancer, sometimes it doesn't. It depends on a lot of different factors and when you catch it. In my mom's case, it's too late. I'm guessing Paul is in the same boat. Cancer sucks. I've lost 3 other people to it in the last two years. Shit sucks

every cancer is a bit different even if it's the "same" cancer, the cells mutate in different ways and respond differently to different things like chemo, radiation, hormone therapy, etc.

                Anonymous

A good way I heard it described is that each cancer is it's own unique species, since it's a unique mutation of your own cells. To cure your cancer you basically need to extinct an entire new species that happens to be inside you.

Only a select amount of actual crayon munchers develop a parasocial relationship over him when every single fiber of his being on camera is deeply against it and that is one of the many reasons people like him, hes 0 bullshit, straight to the point and doesn't give a frick.

Also I'm trying to find one of his videos but I forgot what it's called. Its one where he lectures anti-gun people using his Colt Government by doing the left-right drill while reloading and then loads a 15 round magazine at the end, he also uses his M1 Carbine. It ends with him sitting down by a table at dusk when light is going out and he mentions it specificly. Anyone know the name?

I don't understand. Paul is supposed to be a healthy guy. He obviously does a lot of outdoors stuff which means he gets a lot of physical exercise in doing so. There's a picture of him with his shirt off and he's got big arms so it's obvious he's lifted weights. He obviously stays away from all the garbage your typical American eats because on more than one video he makes it apparent he'd rather shoot junk food than eat it. Plus he is or was a dental hygienist, so he knows the toll junk food can take on your teeth if nothing else. How does a guy like this get cancer?

Genetics are a lotto. I have a diabetic grandpa who eats cake and smokes like he has a death wish, and he’s still totally lucid and “healthy” at 90. Conversely, in the other side of the family, I had a grandpa who didn’t drink, smoke, or eat unhealthy, and played 18 holes of golf nearly every single day. Hiked, biked, all that good stuff. His heart exploded at 65.

Lifestyle factors can add or take away a few years of your life, but by far the biggest factor is genetics. That’ll set the baseline that all other small factors slightly adjust.

Glyphosate (aka Roundup) gets sprayed on wheat to act as a preservative before it gets ground into flour. It’s why so many people in this country have an intolerance to bread/pasta that magically disappears when they visit Europe or elsewhere overseas. There’s studies that show a correlation between pancreatic cancer and glyphosate.
Best way to avoid this is to avoid processed foods and do your own cooking, and buy organic flour.

This. I was going to come in here and mention lead mainly. So many people do not clean anything they take to the range (indoor ranges are the worst, seriously anons if you can avoid going to them please do). Lead does not just 'go away' its always on your equipment and firearms unless you clean them. As the anon said here please be careful on what cleaning supplies you use also. I have been mildly annoyed with C&R's simping of Ballistol recently, but they do have a point that the non-aerosol Ballistol is very safe for you. Also before I forget, if you do frequent indoor ranges CLEAN EVERYTHING YOU TOOK THERE WHEN YOU GET HOME. I am not even joking, range bag, earpro, firearms, eyepro, phone, wallet, and even your shoes. Finally if you shoot steel wipe it down with D-lead before handling it. Actually everything should be wiped down with d-lead when you are done shooting. Lead is a nasty menace.

I just hate that pretty much after 40, it's all downhill from there. Live your lives to the fullest, fellas. You never know when the reaper will come for you next.

Paul's final message to us is to get out and train for a variety of different cases even if we may never expect to be in such a situation. Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I'm going to dedicate getting my Mozambiques down to 1.5 seconds to him. A final salute to this magnificent man.

Boomers turned healthcare into tradable stocks so it is only going to get worse. I know folks who are in their 30s but haven't seen a doctor since they were 10 or so. Too expensive. Sure as hell won't talk them into regular checkups.

I'm with you on blood screening. MRI and Ultrasound would be a bridge too far, here anyway. Our healthcare system can't keep up as it is.

truly sad state of affairs, cancers are only going to get worse, we're already at 50% of every person will get cancer at some point in their lives, and with all the various contaminants we're exposed to regularly, and if you buy into the vaxx=bad narrative, it's only going to rise from that number in the next decade or two.

I guess people from here saying he won't see his channel hit 1M, not that paul cares about that stuff, and talking about getting him to a million started contacting firearms "influencers" as well as went on reddit trying to get him to 1 million before he passes.

Honestly this is better than obituaries after somebody passes when you know it is imminent. At least he gets to see he is appreciated, and the shitty weather of Oregon won't get him feeling too down :'(

Both of them are annoying in the exact same ways. Reddit humor and reddit memes for reddit brains. It's appealing to 15 year olds and grown ass men with the brains of 15 year olds. Notice how many of the top guntubers all have essentially the same vibe? It's because that kind of video gets the most views.

PSR was far more interesting when he covered 3D printed stuff, but YouTube jannies buck broke him and threatened to delete his channel. At least some of his tunes are catchy, I guess.

He went from around 800K subscribers in early January to nearly 950K now, it really is working. Maybe he'll see the 1M mark and make a final video, or even just audio. One can only hope. I'm glad somebody said a couple of threads ago that he may not see his 1M mark and won't make a 1M special, but maybe, just maybe for once the gun autists of the internet uniting will do some good. He probably doesn't care about subscribers and all, but given he's leaving the channel behind for his family, he might appreciate the attention it is getting, and the exposure it'll receive, both his past content and the channel's future content. He's might be an autist, he still has feelings and pride and hopefully knows he is leaving a mark on this world.

Well fellas, if you aren't subscribed to him, or have more than one google account, maybe give him a subscribe, and if he ever helped you with anything through sharing his knowledge and experience, maybe give some of his videos a like and write him some comments, he tends to read everything. It would be nice for him to realize he is appreciated before he passes, instead of worthless obituaries and kind words after he is already gone and cannot see or read them.

Cancer really does suck. Diagnosed with a GBM at 35 about 2 months ago. Underwent brain surgery 3 weeks ago and I still have gammaknife left.

Even after this is all done, who even knows if I'll live longer than 2 years.

At least Paul has closure. It's not a matter of if but when. Retaining dignity is helpful.

My dad in his 80's is still alive, but other than putting a roof over my head and providing basic life sustenance and resources, he was never really present in my upbringing as a source of knowledge, experience, or otherwise. I still love him and appreciate him for sticking around of course, which is more than one could say for over half of fathers out there.
Paul felt like an uncle who was sharing his vast pool of knowledge and experience with everybody, just somebody comfy you could watch, and his particular brand of autism synced very well with my own. I will miss him, and since his initial announcement, and especially in the past week, this whole thing has hit me harder than I ever thought possible for somebody I have never met, let alone an e-celeb of sorts.
