    according to Wikipedia:
    >In March 2022, due to sanctions against Russia by the EU due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, S7 Airlines has confirmed that they will bring back three Il-86s as passenger aircraft, converted from cargo aircraft. This will be the first time that the Il-86 has flown commercially since 2011.

      >These are variously claimed to be designated Il-80, Il-82, Il-87 or Il-86VKP (Russian: “BКП” for “вoздyшный кoмaндный пocт”; transliterated: "vozdushniy komandnyi post" “veh-kah-peh” and meaning "aerial command post").

That's how Russians pronounce acronyms. I actually like it.
The PPSh is the "Papash," DShk is the "Dushka", etc.
"Papash" rolls off easier than "Pee-pee-es-asche"

It's also why the VDV song goes "VEH-DEH-VEH"
