        This is why I dont bother with deenz, stocking up on tuna chunks in oil instead. Same goes for the beans, frick soakaing them in baking soda solution for whole night and then cooking for 6 hours. Lentils are better in every way - red ones take literally 15 minutes to cook. Dont ever believe prepper memes.

    Each ration should be a blind black bag with a single piece of a helicopter so that the unit can piece it together and fly somewhere with palatable food. Doesn't have to be big, can be just one person+cargo like that one from Mad Max so they'll fly that food back to the unit.

    Former IDF here. Our MRE's are inedible and shit. We mostly resort to ordering takeout (since our own towns are always nearby) or scrounging from the nice shit the UN gives palestinians as aid. I lived on UNRWA-issued doritos and Gatorade for Khan Yunis in 2009.

    The main thing I hear is people going crazy from lack of variety, so I'd focus on simple ways to add variety, simple variations on recipes and flavors so that if there's say a dozen base recipes, you've got 5-6 flavor varieties of each so you can go a couple months without a repeat.

    I would essentially just issue the old freeze-dried LRP ration with the addition of an MRE style heater, some kind of wine concentrate similar to vinogel, and a small pouch of pipe tobacco. Soldiers would also be issued a pipe.
    My military will never have morale issues.
