If ukies win the war what do you think about the future of Ukrainian MIC/defense industries will take shape for the next 10-20 years, technology and aestethic wise?

I think they'll make it a national priority. Ukraine has been hurt VERY badly since independence due to their very poor MIC and defense spending. To be fair to them, though, they've also been COMICALLY corrupt for most of that time so having a strong viable MIC wasn't in the cards until just recently. If they win, or, more likely, forced to accept a ceasefire, they'll be heavily in bed with the West and NATO so that corruption score should keep moving up.

Maybe if Zelensky dies. His entire platform is based upon rooting out corruption. It’s part of what makes him such a big threat to Russia (a corrupt Ukraine is a weak Ukraine).

        >believing populists
he's as corrupt as the rest of them. What sets Ukraine apart from Russia for the better is that Ukraine is actually trying to become a libertarian democracy. Russia barely even tries to conceal their undemocratic governance.

i work with some ukrainians, a lot of them complain that outside of rural parts you can't just pay your way out of a ticket or fine anymore for a few years now. just an anecdote though.

Probably be domestic Poland-tier (circa now). Pretty classy if you're a raghead or a monkey, outdated if you're anyone else, more trustworthy than chinkoid or Russian stuff whatever the case.

i would expect a LOT of cooperation with Poland and South Korea. A decent bit with Turkey too, I’d imagine. It would probably be some time before they’re making legitimate options for weapons beyond small arms on the global defense market.

Probably at least some ammo/missile/explosive industry so that they are not reliant on foreign support with those.
Then probably some their own drone project, and obviously keep developing Stugna and spin-offs.
And they will probably want some long range arty of their own though there is lots of competition with those so who knows.

They will be on western subsidies for some time, and theirs factories are destroyed so they will just migrate to western style equipment build with with help of licences parts integrated to domestic designs that will be more similar to wester designs than soviet ones.

Also judging by this cooperation with Poland will closer
    >"A memorandum on the establishment of a joint Polish-Ukrainian commission to launch cooperation between the enterprises of our countries was signed. This commission will prepare recommendations on the format of establishing a Ukrainian-Polish joint enterprise to produce weapons, military equipment," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, 26 July 2022

they'd probably put a lot of effort into reverse engineering Western weapons concepts. maybe they won't produce outright copies, but I'd imagine Ukraine would make their own high-mobility GMLRS, long-range arty, top-attack ATGMs, etc. based on stuff they've gotten from NATO countries.

considering that the Ukies have had some of the most experience with modern peer v. peer UAV and C-UAS warfare they'll probably put a lot of resources into developing good UAV platforms. they've already technically produced their own domestic UCAVs and loiter munitions using commercially available parts and electronics, though they're admittedly smaller tactical types with less utility than an MQ-1 or IAI Harpy. but Aerorozvidka among other drone units have had loads of experience dealing with electronic warfare and C-UAS measures employed by Russia, which is golden expertise that would be valued by countries facing similar countermeasures. I think once the war ends Ukies will focus on shit like autonomous flight UAVs, anti-radar homing loiter munitions (like Harop/Harpy from Israel), and producing a domestic UCAV similar to the TB2. but I can also see them just importing some similar foreign weapons once they get on the market.

if a significant chunk of Ukraine gets occupied, I think the Ukies will especially focus on building a modernizing their armor and air force. specifically they'd probably try to get a lot of SEAD weapons like anti-radar loiter munitions, EW jets, and maybe even stealth bombers or UCAVs. those would all do a lot to lessen the disparity in air forces between Ukraine and Russia, since Russia relies a lot on its air defenses. I know Turkey specifically has prototyped designs for stealthy UCAVs (Kizilelma) and an IAI Harpy clone (KARGI). the Ukies would also need to give their tanks and APCs modern active protections systems to protect against ATGMs and top attack munitions if they want to go on an offensive into the Donbass later in the future.

Please define "win" also Ukraine just suffered a mass exodus, and the first people to leave are the people with skills that can be used elsewhere.
The brain drain will be traumatic to the country.
If Ukraine wants to immediately go from an agricultural society to one with a significant and useful MIC their best bet is to invest hard and fast in reverse engineering and work on generic versions of all the NATO weapons they've got. Bypass the R&D process entirely.

      >Ukraine just suffered a mass exodus, and the first people to leave are the people with skills

Well to the west from what i know, it was mostly women end children, but i know there ware some IT guys who left.
Idk what is happening on russian occupied territories tho, 2 milion people got displaced deep into russia, soviet style.

      >Please define "win"
Not OP but i would say having the same territory as before 24'th is winning.

they built stugna and neptune, so they could innovate on other things too

It's somewhat legacy of soviet union, so idk how do they compare to newer engines and propellents, but all this "aiming" part would have to be licenced for targets smaller than ship.

They alos have some good designs for reactive armour, but this don't go well with western tanks doctrine.

Canada has been working on bringing over Ukrainian medical doctors to work here. Predatory frickers.
        >i would say having the same territory as before 24'th is winning
I'll accept that. Hell, I'd accept giving up the Donbas for a peace agreement as a technical victory for Ukraine, if I didn't believe it would just result in more conflict 5-10 years from now.

Depends heavily if they can continue westernize and keep forcing corruption into normal proportions. As in rule of law actually meaning anything and having environments conductive to business ventures. While they have done a good job so far the taint of the vatnik "culture" stain has been rubbed off on them for centuries.
