Isn't your average Transformer made out of metals with absurd kinetic absorption for their size? I think has the right idea, but that depends on if they give the US enough breathing room to fast-track nuclear artillery and don't target them first.

Then again, if the Transformers are attacking with like, an actual space fleet then we're just boned

the hard part is that they will scan human vehicles in order to hide, making it impossible to nuke them without nuking us as well

Just use the good transformers against the bad transformers and that's it. The good transformers always win.

it would be harder for autobots to find alt-modes, since they would basically just get trucks, jeeps, and maybe some old school 30s roadsters that dont belong anywhere near the front
they could maybe cheat a bit and copy weaponized cars like the M3 half-track with 75mm cannon
while decepticons would be able to copy panzers, panthers, and tigers

Autobots are willing to take on military forms if the situation needs it. My man Warpath is a Sheridan, and an M24 chaffee would fit him just as well.

            >My man Warpath is a Sheridan
oh my god it looks like he's that funky Sheridan that had a conventional 76mm gun installed instead of the stupid 155mm gun-launcher. Based G1 production

it was a conscious decision to mostly stick to plain old cars for the autobots
warpath was the weapons specialist, so he was the exception to the rule

MG42 would frick an Autobot up. A few guys with M4s were able to kill Decepticons in one of the Bay movies.

this did require specialized training with the autobots, and involved having to get the drop on the decepticons in an urban environment to shoot out their eyes and then fire at their weakpoints
in an open battle or if the decepticons get the drop on the humans, something closer to transformers 1 would ensue

      Mg42 with SmK.
Now think about something like the 76mm AP or 17 pounder, or the PaK 40.

I remember reading the novelization of the first Transformers movie when I was a lad and basically
    >Normal bullets=unless it's a .50 or bigger, pointless.
    >Extremely hot Tracers or other bullets however hurt because the magical machine-biology they have repairs physical impacts near instantly but actually burning holes in them also cauterizes those holes from their auto-repair systems

That said, in the only Transformers moves I remember watching, (1 through I think 3 ish), there was simply not enough Transformers to survive a full on assault via Axis or Allied militaries since even a Sherman would be able to inflict a wound on a Transformer that it couldn't just ignore.

This is in fact consistent with the Bay movies. There's a reason why the annoying human characters were relevant and why they had to hide.

    I FRICKING LOVE BAYFORMERS
Humans not being completely fricking useless in Transformers is great, and of course the best way to do that is let the military blow up some robots. Unfortunately the limp dick Canadians and Brits that compromise most of the fandom don't like it because 'le military industrial complex'. They won't complain when a toy transforms into a licensed representation of a military aircraft, hmm.
I know more about Transformers and black powder guns than modern tactics, so bear with me. I think fighting Decepticons should be done from very far away, or very close up (within 200m). Far away with missiles, drones, etc. Would have to be launched from somewhere mobile or aircraft, I imagine a robot that turns into a jet and born with sensor arrays in its brain can find you very quickly. Up close, dune buggys and light trucks with automatic grenade launchers and guided rockets. Maybe a super light IFV with a cannon. These guys would ideally have Autobot and air support

HE-I, lots of burning magnesium. The problem is, however, that WWII tech is unlikely to be able to detect energon signatures, which means transformers can hide and infiltrate *very* easily, especially the smaller ones. Without silly plot devices, how do you even *deal* with that?

      Anonymous

      >HE-I, lots of burning magnesium
trying to hit a highly agile robot that can duck, weave, take cover, or just turn into a car and zoom off at high speeds using a M1 bazooka or PIAT sounds like a very tall order

      >Without silly plot devices, how do you even *deal* with that?
you really cant, since the thing about robots in disguise is that if they really wanted, then first contact would be hitlers parade car suddenly turning into a robot and killing him and the entire top brass
especially in the comics, its a common plot point for the expected reinforcements like tanks or planes to suddenly be transformers who destroyed and replaced the real unit in question

Think artillery barrages, rather than individual soldiers sniping at them.

WW2 artillery wasnt advanced enough to hit point targets
And the artillery battery might be surprised when their artillery tractor turns out to be a giant robot

You gotta get psychological at that point. A car may not care that you have been playing an extremely irritating noise at it for a week straight, but that is gonna drive a transformer absolutely bonkers.

It depends solely on what iteration were talking about. Sometimes they're immune to anything short of HMG and other times small-arms fire hurts them. Explosives would work wonders, Especially mines and considering the time period, There's no shortage of either.

      Anonymous

I don't know, I feel mines wouldn't be the most effective way to administer explodey to a faction whose MO is intelligence gathering and lurking among us. What do we do, mine our own roads?

      Anonymous

      This.

If we're talking about bayformers then it's completely inconsistent since the humans in bayformers went from having to use specialised thermite rounds and heavy artillery in TF1 to blasting them to pieces with ARs in 5

To make this hypothetical scenario as fake and gay as possible we'll give the Nazis the entire Black Templars chapter to even the score. If you think that's too OP you'll have to specify a different chapter.

      Anonymous

Why would the Black Templars bother with the Nazis in specific? If you really extrapolate, the Imperium had intersecting goals in exterminating Judaism (alongside all other religions), but I doubt your average Templar would even realize that part of their greater empire's history.

Templars, and by large space marine chapters as a whole don't give a frick about local politics (unless you're like the salamanders and you're burning children for being poor or some shit), nazis or commies or democrats or anyone could petition them for help and they'll ONLY care if the planet is either A: Strategically important to the Imperium, B: Has chaos on it AT ALL, or C: they have some previous oath to defend them. If anything they would destroy us until all world government and religions are gone then just put an Imperial Commander in charge of what ashes are left and move onto the next world.

TLDR: they don't fricking care, they're more likely going to kill all the world governments and take us over for the Imperium.

Best case scenario they strike an uneasy alliance. I was moreso assuming the transformers were on "the same side" as the allies and I wanted to make things more interesting for the thread.

Complete overkill; even assuming it was only the 6000 Marines and their personal wargear with no vehicles then they'd have more than enough firepower to kill all the transformers on Earth. If we take "entire Black Templars chapter" to mean including all of their equipment, including the fleets of warships, then the Transformers have literally no chance.

There could be a fun scene where the main characters blow up Hitlers limo thinking its a transformer but its just a normal car. Now they have to deal with nazi assassins and evil transformers.

The movie can end with decepticons chasing the MC to a spicy part of the western front and both sides stop killing each other onload everything they have

In one scene the main characters will be talking with their backs to a beach. They dont notice a submarine surface, transform and start walking towards them. As its walking up the beach it steps on a mine. The transformer is unphased by this but MC freak out and action happens
