Pretty much every single IDF pic that I’ve personally seen they were using Colt M4s in Gaza. What’s their domestic model called?

So is the Tavor just a meme? I've seen about three of the things during this entire conflict.

it seems like some of the old M4s are being replaced with arads

Pretty much every single IDF pic that I’ve personally seen they were using Colt M4s in Gaza. What’s their domestic model called?

        depends on the unit
golani and givati, the main active duty brigades use tavors, same with nahal which is pretty active in gaza

combat engineers and the paratrooper brigade who are also very active in gaza use exclusively AR platform

          Anonymous

I thought the paratroopers all used x95s and tar-21s because they were smaller overall so they fit in vehicles better?

            Anonymous

the paratroopers brigade only jump from airplanes during their training
they're just a higher quality light infantry

Different guns serve different purposes. Of the five brigades about two and a half use the tavor - it just depends who you’re seeing pics of.

Jews have a nepotism and caste system. Low tier brown shepardis get those carry handle ones. Mid tier israelites have modern pic rails optics and a PVS14. Elite israelites get PVS31s and the new guns like the arad because of their family connections

I used to really admire the Russian military and think they looked awesome until Ukraine showed they fricking suck. Imagine if the IDF lost 100+ Merkavas and thousands of men to only take 20% of Gaza

We’re all guilty of that too. I thought they were a serious threat to NATO and yeah it turns out the political corruption reach much deeper than we all suspected.
The IDF looks endearing because of careful work by their public affairs officers but I know some lots of heinous shit is going on and it’s In the same way I wouldn’t trust certain dudes in my own unit to not abuse civvies.

Gaza is 33% more populous than Mosul. When the Pesh and Iraqi military retook Mosul from ISIS with US air support and ground advisors they killed around 40,000 civilians to dislodge about 10,000 ISIS fighters. No one said much about this except, "good job," because it was Arabs fighting Arabs (or Kurds and Turkomen in the mix and no one cares about the difference). By contrast, Gaza is much larger and had around 40,000 defenders, plus likely many more volunteers or people press ganged into service. Deaths per Hamas are around 36,000 and don't separate civilians and fighters. Israel's figure isn't that much different except it says about 12,000 or 1/3rd are fighters. Point being, I am sure that in an OP this side war crimes will happen as well as incompetence and bad calls, but frankly, no one would care about this war if it was anywhere else in the world given the low (relative to other ongoing wars) death toll and lack of economic relevance. If this was internal to some Arab nation it would get a shrug.

Just for example, Egypt has killed 10,000+ right across from Gaza bombing villages, hitting them with artillery, etc., while fighting their own insurgency. Hamas supports this insurgency which is why Egypt blockaded Gaz more stringently than Israel before October and won't let Gazans in. People hardly know about that one.

Other point of comparison might be Mariupol. There, Russia showed total indifference to civilian losses and seemed to intentionally target them at times for punitive purposes to make defenders surrender. That is a war crime. It isn't "genocide." At no time were they trying to erase the population. But if Israel killed the same % of the population as Mariupol in Gaza it would be around 250,000+ dead. You probably don't drop 6 times as much high explosives on an urban area as the London Blitz and kill far less people if you are trying to "maximize" deaths.

              >Mosul comparison
              You’ve activated my trap card.

They did not kill 40,000 in Mosul. They killed ~3,000, ISIS killed another 3,000 in their final autistic chimpout, and another 4,000 or so were unclear. So call it 5000 each. Hell, blame all 7k on the coalition. It’s still way, way less than the IDF has killed over a shorter timespan. ISIS also put up much stiffer resistance than Hamas; the latter is rolling more like the Viet Cong and melting into the tunnels instead of fighting for every city block.

You can quibble about the word “genocide” all you want. The fact is, the IDF ROE would be way stricter in a Mosul situation where it was their own civvies on the line. They don’t value the lives of Palestinian civilians at all. Certainly a large portion of Israeli high command and the right wing overall would be happy to cleanse Gaza of Arabs and settle it.

                >They don’t value the lives of Palestinian civilians at all
Neither does HAMAS, and if that was actually the case, it would be 300k and 30k

Hey I never said they did. That doesn’t give Israel an excuse, as much as they wish it did. I have full confidence that they would just carpet bomb the place if they could get away with it. They tried the starvation tactic because they thought they could justify its military use, even though Hamas would be the last people to starve in Gaza. That’s arguably the biggest point against Israel in the genocide case.

Please explain how you would dislodge 40,000 fighters who are comfortable embedding with civilians who have had access to billions in funding and had 20 years to prepare— evicting them from a dense urban area without causing more than 35,000 total fatalities or taking more than 600 combat losses?

      I don't think it's possible.

idk this is kind of stupid. Israel isn't taking disproportionate casualties or in any position where it needs to move quickly. And in this particular conflict leadership has strong incentives to slow roll it because once it's over bibi is most likely leaving office and ending up in very hot water.

I'm not a israelite or israelite enabler but anyone with a brain knows pallies/arabs in general aren't much better. They had no chance in an offensive war, it would be like Ukraine trying to invade Russia to conquer Belgorod and Krasnodar. And in a defensive war even if they had more equipment they don't have the space to do shit with it.

There is also EMTAN who seems to make a million configurations of AR but they are starting to export them to police/military. I don't think IDF uses them but I think domestic police use them.
