Identifying a Receiver

Hey /k/, I need your help. I found an old shotgun receiver out at the ranch and I'm wondering if you could help me identify it.

Something 1100/1187 like actually. No o-ring groove in the mag tube.

since this technically counts as a firearm, would you be legally obligated to report this to the police?

How can you tell if it's a Remington or a Browning or a Savage?

      Looks like a Remington

That looks savage from the screws

        Probably a browning

I know that mine is a Remington, jackasses, I'm asking how to tell the difference between variants

I look for locking screws and mag disconnects. Rollmark locations help too, even if you can't read them

Ask it if it identifies as female and if so cut the mag tube off.

Poor thing. Use non-chlorinated brake cleaner to remove the oils and dirt and then chuck it into a pot of boiling water to convert the rust to blued metal. Then IIRC Mark Novak mentioned having to chuck it in kerosene for a day or two? Might be able to get away with mineral oil.
