I would appreciate some help narrowing down my choices for my first 9mm handgun (or more recommendations to look into based on what I provided)

Love hammer fired pistols and wanting to keep it under $800

I live in a cuck state so magazine capacity isn't really relevant, going to be using it as mostly a range toy anyway.

Jericho. It's got sex appeal, it's solid, and it'll draw attention at the range. You have excellent taste, OP

Yeah, definitely was my first choice but damn, there's so many beautiful modern handguns that it's been pretty hard to decide on just one.

Jericho or cz, followed by berretta, then hk.

All of those are good shooters, cz clones make very fun shooters

cz is the only one ive shot and its the coolest imo but theyre pretty heavy (will lower felt recoil, but for carrying most people prefer something lighter)

I like my jericho. Any classic CZ is just as good. Browning HP is also good.
Steel framed guns are heavier, but they aren't too heavy unless you're gay, and they just feel better to operate.

Oh yea, the R is the one with the ugly as fuck rail on it. The F is the one that people want.

          Anonymous

          Well see, there's different versions

The R is the one with the slide decocker, the RS is the 3.8in slide version of the slide decocker.

The "R" variant covers both the original version which has no rail on the bottom, every new Jericho has a rail.

The F is the version with the frame-mounted safety, and also covers variants with and without a rail.

The no-rail R is expensive, though yes. The no-rail F is fairly common though due to IDF/Israli Police surplus.

          Anonymous

Also, the Magnum Research imported Baby Eagle is the same gun as the no-rail R, but it's a lot cheaper due to "Baby Eagle" being on the frame instead of "Jericho 941"

            Anonymous

Checked. Mine actually says "desert eagle pistol" but I've read that magnum research had several different names that were used for the jericho.

Why do you have the gay ass safety version of the Beretta? The 92 has the best double action trigger of any of the guns in your chart and you picked the one configuration you can’t use it in.

  21. 3 weeks ago

Get the HK with an LEM trigger so you don't have to deal with a DA/SA chud trigger switching genders on you every pull.

Terrible advice LEM sucks donkey balls, go match instead

LEM is great. It's as close as a hammer-fired pistol will ever get to having all of the desirable qualities of a striker-fired handgun WITHOUT the big drawback of striker-fired pistols where you feel like you are firing a staple gun.

OP, if you're in a cuck state, get an HK45 or HK45C. The recoil impulse of .45 ACP is just more fun at the range. I know that's a weird way to describe an advantage of one pistol over another, but it's true. It's a heavier recoil impulse, but less violent (less "snap"). For a range queen pistol, you will enjoy shooting it more in .45 ACP than in any other caliber.

There's no perfect handgun. I've owned almost all of those and sold them all. Currently I just own Glocks. They are streamline, reliable, lightweight and they "just werk."

    Top Tier:
HK - but the P2000 has kind of a weird, mushy trigger. USP Compact has a better trigger, and IMO, slightly better grip design.

    High tier:
Beretta 92XI - This is the first I've heard about this variant. Pretty cool that they're finally giving customers what they want after 400 years in business. The slide-mounted safety is not a big deal, and if you get a G-variant, it's even more irrelevant, but if you want SAO, this is the one to get. Beretta 92's run great, but don't expect the highest degree of fit and finish. It will run reliably and shoot accurately. Just keep those things in mind when you see the sights that had to be pushed to opposite ends of their dovetails at the factory to correct for the alignment of the barrel.

CZ P-01 - I'm not the biggest fan of CZ triggers. The DA pull is pretty long and uneven, but I especially hate the Omega trigger. That said, CZs have never given me any problems *whatsoever*. People say "muh parts breakage," but they are built really well and run reliably.

    Low tier:
Sig Sauer P229 - I've had lots of problems with Sigs. The West German (marked) ones are going to be by far the most durable and reliable, but there are certain parts on those which are not made anymore in case you do have a failure, like the internal extractor. The Exeter Sigs will beat themselves up as you shoot them, regardless of type of lubricant you use, and then Customer Service will gaslight you that it's normal for the frame rail to raise a burr, and didn't you take the gun apart every 200 rounds to re-apply thick lubricating paste? Do not ever buy an Exeter Sig.

I have less experience with the Jericho - owned one briefly. It was fine, but seemed like a cheap CZ. Not sure why they are even made. No experience with the AREX, so can't offer an opinion on that.

      >The 92 has the best double action trigger of any of the guns in your chart and you picked the one configuration you can’t use it in.
The 92X, in particular, has a buttery smooth and remarkably even DA trigger pull, but all the hammer-fired Berettas have very nice DA pulls.

    I also made a spreadsheet
I'd consider the PX4 compact OP, it feels really nice. The rotating barrel puts a smile on my face. I'm sure the HKs are good guns but I just don't like how any of them feel, either in the trigger or controls

For $400+, you can get a good compact 1911 in .45

Half that budget you can buy a Rueger Security 9mm. I picked one up recently, cheap as shit, but better than the Glock in every way.

Or half THAT budget and dual-wield Yeet Cannons like a ghetto version of The Shadow.

I have a Beretta 92 and it's a good pistol, but you might be better off with something more modern.
