I went to the gun show this Saturday and l was extremely dissapointed.
I paid $15 fucking dollars plus another $5 for parking just for the privilage of shopping around a massive overglorified gun shop full of 80% retailers charging full MSPR for all of their inventory with no haggle room whatsoever.
I could have just went to my local gun shop and wouldn't have paid just to walk in the fucking door. What a massive circlejerk fuckstick.
Last time I went I just took the opportunity to finger fuck guns on my wishlist that I had never seen in person. Gave me a good idea of their size, weight, and grip. Don’t care if boomers get mad a me dry firing the shit out of their product, I’m not dropping hundreds of burger bucks on a gun unless Ive held and dry fired one a few times.
pretty much this.
although the last gun show I was at insisted I showed my ID before I could touch a gun. fucking naggers.
i just said, yeah my bad, and moved on to the next table.
The internet absolutely fucked up these sorts of shows. Swap meets suffered a similar fate.
I KNOWS WHAT I GOT
>The internet absolutely fucked up these sorts of shows. Swap meets suffered a similar fate.
though seriously this, granted a few areas still have good ones, but the internet mostly rekt it. A friend went to a great one in Alaska last year which makes more sense because it costs so much to ship anything and everything is so isolated that it's still a little more like the old days. Mostly though that scene and its ethos hasn't been maintained.
I don't go often but I've found that there are still some good deals. I bought a revolver for the cheaper end of armslist prices without having to pay shipping or a transfer fee and I got to fingerfuck it before I decided to buy
Lol. everybody's known since at least the 90's that the only things you go to a gun show for is the jerky and brass, and lately not even the brass.
i always had good luck getting holsters and mags for decent prices. not anymore
you didn't actually go to a gunshow, did you OP?
It's been that way for a long while, and depends on the area too.
Most private sellers arent going to fuck with getting and manning a booth now that sites like tacswap exist, so all that's left are the shops.
They're now for old boomers who aren't comfortable buying guns online.
>he didn't buy the beef jerky
NGMI. literally the only reason to go to a gunshow.
>go to gun show
>tell everyone you prefer teriyaki flavored supermarket jerky to their genuine home made cowboy jerky
>ask boomers if their delusionally priced shit is still available and then tell them that you thought as much and wander off when they answer "yes".
Gun shows are for suckers. Gun shops are too for that matter. They're ran by boomers and boomers are only looking to rip off suckers. You can get everything cheaper online so long as you find a based FFL who does cheap transfers.
>they were selling an M1 Garand for $2000
I'm in Spain without the S
ive more often found that the prices in gun shows are over internet prices the same amount transfer and shipping fees are. The main positive being you can actually hold and inspect the gun before purchase. Yeah you have your fudds selling sawn apart arisakas for 700 dollars, but the majority of the people at my local gun shows are younger men trying to make it in a dying gun industry in israelite York.
Make no mistake, they are gonna try to make it harder and harder to buy guns and ammo. Whether it be through taxes, laws, or rules designed to hamper firearms/ammo manufacturers.
Fill it out, OP
>overweight millenials wearing white shemaghs
is this new? i havent been to a gun show in a while
I'll give you a hint. they wear hats and work for an agency that rhymes with possad.
Of the 1500 tables, at least 1/3 were selling knives and tasers only. Even fucking Damascus steel knives for cooking
If you can't find a way to enjoy a gun show then maybe you should look internally. I always have a blast.
Had the same experience a couple weeks ago at a show in VA. There was one good seller there who I bought an AR BCG from for about $40 less than MSRP. Two vendors took up most of the floor with nothing but brand new guns at full price. And another few tables were selling blatantly overpriced ammo (literally saw a box of PMC M193 priced at $130 lmao). The rest were just boomers with various trinkets and a couple used guns for sale.
Oh, forgot to say, that was a box of 100 for $130. I am not joking.
At the show i went to last weekend I found a guy selling 30 rounds of M855 on stripper clips for 55 bucks. I found another guy that was selling 20 round boxes of M855 for 8 bucks a box, and he had S&B 50 round boxes of 10mm for 20 bucks. I bought from that guy
I went to the gunshot and was extremely fuckinng satisfied, within 5 minutes I was able to sell my shit at more than I originally wanted and didn't have to deal with giving a friend a discount or some shit. Made space in the collection and made good money for a better more thought out purchase he'll yeah. Op as always is a faggor
I go to a gun show for the same reason I go to a car show. Shoot the shit with friends and look at cool shit. Only down side of a gun shoe is there's a lot less "I don't wanna haul this back" discounts if you stay until cleanup.
They had one by me this weekend. I keep wanting to check it out since they run it every couple of months, but currently im broke for gun purchases and I’d rather just get ammo online…. Last time I went I was looking for a 22 lr revolver, got a 6 shot H&R with both the magnum and LR cylinder for 300$. No flip out cylinder but it shoots double action and single action. It’s a little finicky and old, but I’ve run 6k rounds through it so far and it shoots pretty good so I can’t complain. Better than a wrangler or heritage. Honestly the best thing I ever got from a gun show was a fossilized Dino tooth for my 7 year old who thought it was the coolest damn thing on the planet
>fossilized Dino tooth for my 7 year old who thought it was the coolest damn thing on the planet
Same but my girl is 8. It might not really be a Raptor tooth but it is old and she keeps it on her night stand.
that's sweet
>tfw no family
damn i remember going to motorcycle meetups with my dad and loóking at all the fucking SS Helmets and WW2 shit in awe telling my dad i wanted the helmet cause "the lightning looks cool". He didnt buy it, but that was probably for the best since i ended up getting a fossilized shark tooth back then, i was a dinosaur kid so that was great. Good memories. He is still working on one of his motorcycles he bought parts for back then, but his fat cat loves the empty chassis and he cant bring himself to take it away from him
Boomers are something else
What's funny is they KNOW you paid that much, they KNOW you're likely to pay for at least something to justify spending 20 dollars and being there due to sunk cost fallacy.
Iowa?
You go to gun shows to finger fuck stuff and how to find something on the cheaper end of a listing that avoids you having to pay shipping and waiting. That's basically it. Anybody with something unique and crazy rare is selling that shit online for big bucks.
>I went to the gun show this Saturday and l was extremely dissapointed.
Either you are a glowie, or you went to a wrong show.
Most have 10-20% discounts over retail or mail order.
Try to pick your shows OP, you can find some really neat shit and not waste your time and money
nip garand clone? what am I looking at here
>gas trap garand
>pedersen toggle lock prototype
>jap garand
>sniper springfield?
>All that trouble and OP is still nogunz
Went to one not too long ago, picked up a West German G3 bayonet for 20 bucks from an old Fudd who had no idea what rifle it fit on. It’s cool it has a self sharpening scabbard and fits neatly on my PTR-91 and Vector 93 (after installing bayonet lug).
Unfortunately everything else was overpriced dogshit. There was a guy trying to get 800$ for Norinco SKS’s. You can’t make this shit up.
Boomer hears what the russian sks goes for, thinks "ive got an sks!". And runs down to the local gun show. Many such cases.
They used to be kinda okay when you couldnt really get free shipping on bulk ammo online in like 2014, years ago.
Bulk cases of Wolf and Tula, spam cans, etc
They were still bad, but that was worth going for if you had a few hundred bucks.
A few shows back there was a table owned by scientologists selling books and offering some electro treatment whatever with some machine, shit was wild, didint see anyone stop by though.
people who go to gunshows are fucking stupid so I can see why they'd try fishing there.
>electro treatment
Thats part of the conversion process, the E-meter is used to measure your thetans or something which is given as an explanation of whatever ailment or spiritual shortcoming you admit to. The idea that anyone would put it on the level of a religion is crazy.
did you notice the license plate reader recording your car's entry into the parking lot? You were probably not aware of the cell phone tracking for all those that attend either.
Someone trying to crack down on straw purchasers?
If you don't know why you're going to a gun show, you probably shouldn't be there in the first place.
inb4 >"I'm there for the $80 mosins I heard about on the interwebs, haha!"
You're there for the stuff you can't find online and/or the 'cash and carry' ability.
Telling boomers off at a gun show is paramount to telling a gas station owner to close down because their snacks are too expensive and they're delusional. You're not there for the overpriced snacks(garands), you're there for the gas(shit you can't sell online). Boomers are paying for tables and therefore are paying for the show. Sure, you may scoff at the rows of 3x-4x msrp ammo and other "rare" shit, but you're finding the true reason to visit a (large)gun show if you get there at opening on the first day. You have to know what to look for, and you can't just walk in with the idea that you'll find the diamond in the rough on your first go.
