I want you to try your absolute hardest to come up with a functional purpose for every feature on this weapon. Can you mentally backflip hard enough?

Looks cool
It looks like a pos, not even trying.
It looks like a pos.
...is this from Starfield?
Bakelite and ironsights, clearly this is soviet-era stuff.
i mean, it's obvious. this gas operated firearm comes from a universe where brass is more valuable than gold. so for each shot, the shell is reformed, reloaded and rechambered
mister, I can assure you this bad boy is what you need!
this hefty beauty is equiped with top of the top hardware! Screws are stainless steel, the barel is chromed!

don't let this deal go down, it's a beauty, and we're soon out of stock!
Okay, 'ere we go.
>That front front grip is not in fact a grip. It's a charging handle for the integrated particle scatter cannon. You rack it to cycle the internal chamber to prime it to fire again. It actually uses the same charge from the power pack, but directs it differently. It's got the extra shaft on the bottom to add strength to the mechanism. S is for safe, A is for active, or 'angry' as some call it.
>The charge pack presents a complication in that it needs a certain amount of space from the body of the weapon, and needs to be of a certain size. By mapping it to the bottom of the grip like so, you optimize pack volume and minimalize awkwardness.
>Following it along, the little lever there is part of the action to take the gun apart. Press down on the stud beneath and lift it, and it allows you to slide out the 'bolt', which is actually involved in charge regulation. This then gives you space to remove the Henry latch (H-latch), and drop the belly (the section between the H-latch and the foregrip), which allows for the removal of the accelerator block. Then, the weapon is safe to handle fully, and can be disassembled via conventional means.
>The little dial controls firing speed. 9 is safe, 10:30 is single, 12 is double, and beyond that controls firing speed up to 240 shots a minute. Civilian models are limited at 120 due to space law.
>The protrusion above the foregrip is a spare charge cell, which is a common modification we see in these duel fire particle weapons. While they typically need to be replaced after only a few shots, they're popular as they provide redundancy in case of weapon damage. These should be removed with the main charge pack before disassembly.
>This specific firearm has been with the brass chasings and the pleasant wood stock, though sections show signs of amateurish repair. Notably, it does not possess a trigger guard, as this model incorporates a gyroscopic prevention mechanism, which requires a cheek weld to fire.
If that's from Starfield then jesus christ these fuckers cannot design a decent looking gun that isn't just 90% a pre-existing gun (see FO3's guns)
OP's pic seems to be on the wackier side of Starfield's weapons. Most of the weapons seen so far look pretty reasonable and functional to me. It's a mix of serious looking weapons with some silly looking ones thrown in.
I can accept that. As long as none of the whackier ones get into FO4 "Assault Rifle" territory
I spotted a pump action shotgun, an AK, and an M1911 in one of the trailers. Plus within 6 months, you'll have every gun from a sci-fi series modded in, so you'll be able to choose between a DC-15, M41A, or the ChemRail. Looks like there will be a bigger variety of native reload animations, which makes adding in new weapons even simpler.
There is also the fucking VSS straight out of S.T.A.L.K.A.N.
A fair blend of normal guns and goofy shit as god intended
It's an AK with an underslung 20mm incen. The recoil spring is forward like a spas 12 and the magazine is rearward for weight distribution, the AK feeds from a p90 style rotator so that it feeds reliably from the high spring pressure mag.
The forward grip is soley for firing the underslung, which is rorated to cycle the cylinder thus preventing ND while the weapon is in normal operation.
The charging handle is bulky because it must reciprocate around the cylinder of the underslung launcher.
It's expected that the operator will be wearing mittens, which is why the bolt handle is so large and also why there's no trigger guard.
Simple
Damn, that actually doesn't look bad. Leagues better than the Fallout 4 weapons. Good job, Todd.
I mean, it doesn't look realistic but I can use it without wanting to vomit.
It's clear Todd loves starfield far more than fallout
>if we glue enough random bullshit to a gun it'll look futuristic
I hate this trope.
Some look pretty cool tho
>Nerf gun
>see orange parts
>immediately think nerf
I dunno. Maybe I'm jaded but that just screams "generic scifi" to me. Which is admittedly better than most other Bethesda weapons, but still.
the why this shit looks cool
>thread for nogunz games to feel good about thier sad lives
Kids.
>No you're not allowed to like things!!!!!
Child.
>things
Imaginary things. Don't you have an imaginary tea party to go to with your imaginary friends?
That is the shittiest argument I've ever heard in my entire life. You best avoid all forms of entertainment and your own thoughts if you hate that which is imaginary, retard, or are you incapable of imagination and that's why you hate fiction?
Stoicism is the way. Reality trumps fantasy. It isn't hard. Run along back to your gaming system created by real people that work. Kids.
Please pay attention to the lesson, Timmy. The teacher is gonna give you detention if you keep using your phone in class.
You'll never create anything with that attitude. Even your mom just had to spread her legs to create something, but look at her work? Sadly pathetic leg spreader.
>ur mom
Glad to see summer children still enjoy coming here and sharing their retardation with everyone else.
And yet you only reply because it's true. Now who's the child? Stop being pathetic.
Can't you read the rules on the sidebar Anon?
This subreddit is for serious discussions only. Like whether the impossibly cumbersome length of 13.9 inch barrel or lacking terminal performance of a 13.7 inch will get you killed. Or whether you should keep your optics ar a svelte and manageable 6 inches height over bore or go for 8 inches to help repair your posture damaged by years of arguing with shitheads online.
Late 21st century materials (T15 10099 aluminum) primarily designed to ward of energy based damage is intrinsically weaker than older materials used in firearm manufacture. As such, all the patterning you see in the metal is ribbing for added strength. Fun fact: the pattering is unique to the production facility and serves as a sort serial identification.
know a guy who used to work as a junior 3d modeler in a game studio, he had to do two finished models a day and the easiest path is to take a hand model in pistol grip pose, box model shit around it and the cut chinks out of it with boolean operations, there is no time to do anything but jank
The external shroud is protecting the tubing for a thermal management system, allowing the gun to be fired in hard vacuum. The large knob near the foregrip allows the user to purge the system through the holes under the muzzle. The switch on the foregrip is for switching between "Space" and "Atmosphere".
Does this satisfy your autistic needs, morongay?
I don't know what you mean?
Seems fine to me.
Clearly an atmosphere adjustable battle rifle that's chambered in caseless ammo.
