I want a gun for protection. Is the G2C any good at protecting?

    2 things.
    >is it good?
    no
    >should I get one?
Only if you want to use it as a paperweight. Any Taurus semi auto handgun will be trash, you'll want to at least spend $500 on a handgun if you're going to trust your life to it, because any cheap shit will fail when you need it most and get you killed.

    Also, fuck off moron

Mind you I actually already own a G2C and it's so bad that I've considered blowing it up with tannerite or loading some ungodly Hispanicy handload into it so that I can send the rear half of the slide to the International Space Station. Easily my least favorite firearm, it was only $200 and I still feel like I overspent given how awful it is. Piece of shit should be $50 max

I've put thousands of rounds through mine wouldn't a single issue.

Mine has a failure to feed at least once every 5 rounds. No amount of cleaning or range time has fixed this, I'm going on somewhere around 500-700 rounds if I had to estimate.

5000+ rounds through my G2, no failures or jams. No the most accurate at 30 ft, but it is extremely reliable. Eats any kind of round you feed it.

    Why not a g3c toro?

    Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Yes but every other compact/subcompact pistol is better. G19, G43, Springfield Hellcat, Sig p365xl are probably better options but way more expensive than the G2c.

Regardless, it's a fine pistol and I've shot at least 700 rounds with no failure whatsoever.

If you can, get a G3c T.O.R.O. instead. It's an upgraded version with optics ready capability.

If you get one of the functional ones, sure. The problem is that with Taurus' Brazilian aversion to ensuring that their product isn't terrible, you have a higher percentage of a chance to get a bad gun than with some other companies.
But hey, why do you care? You're giving serious considering to buying a Taurus anyhow, indicating that your life is worth around 280 bucks. If you have that opinion, then go ahead and buy a gun so you can treat it like a magic talisman you stick in a drawer that will hopefully protect you from dark spirits (aka nignogs).

I bought a brand new Taurus revolver one time for shits, like $180, 15 rounds through it fiddling it on my couch and it completely fell apart. I wish I was exaggerating, multiple screws, the cylinder, springs, all fell apart at once. Haven't even sent it back because the process seems annoying.

An old friend of mine had the whole crane assembly on his 85 fall out on him at the range. Even my ria m206 never did that
