I like 1911’s but you can definitely tell it is a product of its time and not in a good way. As nice it is to shoot, stuff like the Glock 21 or the USP are just far less of a pain in the ass while being just as good of a shooter, in some ways even better. If you get to the point where’s you’re paying a couple hundred bucks shy of a SCAR just for a Delta Elite then you either fell for boomer memes or are trying to impress the range fudds.

Nah, it's something I've wanted but slept on for a few years and missed out on.
This is what my Dad told me but for a Les Baer to my spec would cost at least double what I just paid plus a 12-18 month delivery window. Frick that. Also know that custom 1911s are more prone to being picky about ammo. We reload.

So you are saying the inflated price doesnt even relate to it being a collectors item? I though this was all about picking up some colt history.

Not sure, but I bought a G20 a few months back, first Glock I’ve owned and it’s the most fun I’ve had shooting pistols. It eats anything I feed it from PMC to hardcast Underwood, is easy as frick to keep on target at 15 yards and holds 17 rounds with the 2rd extensions. I get the Glock cult now, I still love my other guns and don’t plan on drinking the Kool Aid but I’m extremely impressed with it.

Haters whip out the weak ammo line like companies don’t still sell plenty hot rounds. Who wants to shoot cheap ball ammo from a 10mm? It defeats the point and drives home that these are all poors admitting they can’t afford more pricey ammo. You’re in for a treat, you’re good to shoot hotter loads right off that bat and I’d recommend it, you only get to shoot it for the first time once..

Dan Wesson is great. Owned by CZ as well. Still..not as good looking. ECP is frickin' ugly.

A cool 1911 in the wrong caliber. Anything but 45 is heresy, but 10mm is the cool kind of heresy unlike 9mm 1911s. Those are the lame heretics that say they reject the church but then don't burn anything down or go on some kind of anti-church crusade

Bought it for camping in bear/tweaker country and its become the only semiauto pistol I enjoy shooting. I installed a 26 pound hammer spring and watching boomers/zoomers/womyn struggle to rack the slide is pretty funny. Not a single ftf or stovepipe yet. Cant see myself buying a non-10mm 1911 again tbh. Those Les baer longslides are looking pretty attractive.

OP here. If I made the wrong choice economically, so be it. But for me, I wanted one of these. And literally no one could order one for me anywhere. Out of stock - no back order. I wanted it and I got it. All good. In any case, I'm happy. And that's all that matters

I'm glad your happy with it if that's all that matters to you, but if you come in here making a pointless thread like this don't expect to not get shit on by everyone else.

I'm glad that you like it OP but seriously all of my local gun shows have stacks of Delta Elites for $1200 to $1500. I see 3 or 4 per show, every "premium" seller has at least one at their table, and no one buys them. You paid A LOT for that gun.

i want to get a ruger SR1911 but instead will probably get a stainless Tisas. These guns serve no purpose other than to shoot it, look at it, and then say "nice."

        This.
Also this picture is as close as I've gotten to it. Ordered through my FFL 6 months ago, Called Springfield recently about it, they told me to "expect another 6 months on that"
        >"Muh supply chains"
Also: $1,695. Almost $1,900 bucks out the door. Thank God I'm not a poorgay.

Is it an NM prefix serial? Those are national match guns. They're machined by someone else and super smooth. My TRP Operator is an NM gun.

            Anonymous

Don't have the s/n. Described as Match grade frame and slide but seriously I have no idea what that means I'm newguns.

              Anonymous

Years ago when the GI specials were $400, the national match guns were $2300-$2900. They were made by a different machine shop in SA. I've heard recently that they're sent out to a different shop that does the finish machine work on them. They're much tighter and smoother guns than the run of the mill guns made by SA. Not all TRP Operators are NM guns. They're fairly rare.

By those numbers it seems dead certain my inbound TRP is not a NM gun. It'll still be Fuddtastic though.

Mine was a TRP Operator I paid $1200 in like 2009. It was well under the cost of most NM guns. I've only seen a couple since then.

Looks like you have the full AMT product lineup minus their Backup. Nice shit anon, how do the AMT’s shoot? I’ve heard mixed thing about the II’s but that seems to be more a function of when and where they were produced.

There's several NIB ones on gunbroker right now that are listed in the $1800 range, you could probably get one cheaper if you're patient or don't care if it's used.
