They literally rely on us to keep their economy afloat.

Only partly. Iran is the main lifeline. Georgia doesn't allow weapons to transit through to Armenia, but Iran does. They get their energy from Iran too, while Georgia gets its energy from Azerbaijan.

why the fuck would they attack Georgia? Azerbaijan is already trying to finish turkeys genocide.

If anything Georgia is the best friend they have in the region.

Azerbaijan was/is just trying to liberate the chunk of their country Armenia forcefully took when the USSR was collapsing. Genociding Armenians isn't really in their best interest.

I assume Armenia is a mob-run kleptocracy, barely a country at all, but I wonder if I’m being unfair. Is it an actual country that citizens are proud to be a part of?

From what I know, yes. They're also a democracy, iirc. The Russian "alliance'" is just a thing of convenience, because who else are they supposed to lean on?

They only recently became a democracy with the election of Pashinyan as PM in 2018. Majority of the Armenian diaspora tend to hate him too, but they can't vote in Armenian elections.

Armenia is the only country in the region that has fewer people today then they did in the 1990s. Their citizens flee in droves, mostly to the West (they have a lot of illegal emigrants in Turkey as well), and then push for the same politically isolationist policies that's ruined Armenia's economy and demographics.

It's complete schizophrenia. Some of the overseas Armenians also push an anti-Russia and/or anti-Iran line. Basically, you're looking at a country that's decided to pursue a path of self-destruction. Pashinyan and Turkey want to reopen trade ties, but much of the diaspora is against that too.

Transnistria and Lugabe's Belarus are built on soviet nostalgia and have coopted soviet symbols. Russian nationalism is also a weird mix of nostalgia for Soviet Union and having a raging hard-on for daddy stalin, as well as proper nationalism and russian exceptionalism.
In impoverished states like Armenia or Kyrgyzstan soviet nostalgia isn't an actual political movement, but it is strong due to boomers seeing how their countries fell off after becoming independent and long to go back, despite the fact that its the soviet-raised boomers like them in power who mismanaged countries to shit that are the problem, not a capitalist system.

i believe that was the intent but cannot be certain

The intent was because the US "invented the internet" (Not true, the technology was designed and actively progressing to it in several western universities through mutual cooperation and DARPA, though the word was coined in the US) so the US thus gets the ability to use it.
But you're right it does imply they shouldn't get to use it kek.

Bolsheviks killed like 150k people there in the 1920s and it was the 'nationalist fedayeen' who were rebel terrorists against the turks in 1915 yet nobody in armenia ever says a thing about this
