I got a job doing mansion security that requires I have an AR. So, what's the cheapest, yet still serviceable/reliable rifle to purchase?

>inb4 git sum training, why don't you own one, etc

I was in the Muhreenes Security Forces and recently got out, haven't even gotten to buying one yet. Don't know much about what brands are good or bad. I used a FNH firearm so I was planning on going with that simply because that's what I used. Any advice from the gear/consoomer gays in regard to the best bang for your buck rifle?

Why don't they provide you one or reimburse?

Being an armed guard, smaller companies don't really provide firearms. They expect you to own one.

it's a tool. buy the cheapest one then get a better one after a few paychecks

You’re probably never going to shoot it in anger so an Aero or PSA build is good enough. 500-600 dollars for complete upper and lower

I'm considering this. For that exact same reason that I don't really think something will ever go down, when's the last time you've heard of an armed security guard with an AR blowing holes in someone with an AR? However, I do want to train with it and take it outdoors as well, so I wanted something reliable.

Just make certain it's 16 inches with mid length gas and a pinned gas block and has a white light. Everything else is cope

Psa is fine (after you shoot 200 round and inspect it, just like every other rifle)

Lame. When I'm a billionaire all my bodyguards will have matching P90s, Five-Sevens and Hugo Boss suits.

Also they will be contractually obliged to grow a moustache. I will even pay for moustache wax.

How does that work for stuff like vid related where they're using automatics? Do you need your own FFL, or would you use one of their guns?

If you need one right away and don't want to spend too much money just get a PSA or something and buy a better one later once you've made a decision, or just keep running it.
The FN M4 and M16 replicas you mentioned are certainly good, though they're very expensive and well beyond what you need.

I'd recommend an Anderson, Aero, PSA, S&W or Colt. Most ARs are about the same, but some are built better.

PSAs are serviceable but their QC has gotten even worse than it was. They overtorque shit and they aren't labeling all of their blem models. Blem models can have crooked pin holes and shit like that, it's not just cosmetic blemishes.

Aero are the minimum with good QC. If you want complete get an M&P15 or Ruger 556. If Savage is still making their MSARs those were the best complete budget AR on the market all features considered.

You will pay more for a complete btw, to save money buy an upper and lower and just stick them together. That's why people go with Aero over M&P and others that only come compete. There's some 10% fee or something for buying a complete gun, someone on here claimed, but they always seem to be more expensive regardless just because rhe company stuck the upper and lower together. You also can put your own furniture on it saving money and not ending up with parts you don't want sitting around.

Do not build your own AR. Not even putting the lower parts kit together, certainly not putting the barrel on. Building it only saves money if you build more than 3-5 ARs, since you have to buy specific tools to do it. A barrel nut wrench, heavy vise, and receiver block are necessary. The barrel is a pain in the ass to torque properly and the small parts are a massive pain in the ass in general. You're going to scrape, marr, bend, and lose shit not having the proper tools. Just let the factory do it by buying a complete lower and barreled upper.

Mansion security is pointless to begin with, you’re gonna be on a team of 1 or 2 guys and if you actually have any problems the guy outside stands no chance. Invest in a gun like pic related and learn how to use it and you’ll have a chance. Unless you’re in transportation or you already have a member of the SS ( shitty joke ) you’re playing on the hopes whoever coming at you isn’t a former member of the military or knows what they’re doing.

    T. Someone you should be happy doesn’t live in the same country as you.

What are you even trying to say lol. Couldn't you say the same thing about every military/police check-point? The point of mansion security is the easy money. I worked Mansion Security (back in 2020) for $45 an hour, and we were literally inside the mansion in an air conditioned office room watching CCTV cameras that also had nightvision/thermal vision capabilities. Half of the day which I spent shitposting on PrepHole and getting paid for it. We would only exit the room in order to investigate something fishy or confront people at the gate. (which was mostly tourists trying to peek at rich people's homes)

Other than bombing the entire mansion, there's really no easy way of assaulting a fortified building that has 3 to 4 ex-mil guys with semi-auto rifles. In Iraq we would only clear buildings that we thought were empty, if we knew there were armed individuals in buildings we would just bomb the ever living shit out of the building. So unless the attackers are going to start shooting a steady stream of rockets and machine gun fire at the mansion, it would not be easy for anyone to assault it. Look at what cops did with that one BLM shooter who holed himself up in a building. They sent a robot to blow up some explosives and took the building down rather then send in a SWAT team because they know that even one trained shooter inside of a giant structure is a HUGE risk. Even if they will most likely ultimately win against one lone shooter, not before that lone guy can take down a lot of officers.

anyone have any experience with the Radical ARs? This seems like a pretty good deal if you don't want to deal with assembly.

If you want a pre-built entry (works but isn't well honed) ready to go AR then just buy
    >m&p15
    Around 650$
    >magpul flip rear sight
    50$
    >If you're feeling extra get a sig romeo 7s red dot. They're very tough, very cheap, and take easy to source AAA batteries with the next best thing being an 1100$ comp m5
    $100
    >bayonet lug rail and some kind of streamlight so you know what you're shooting at and can make better decisions
    15$ + 130$

    >inb4 flashlight gives away your position!
You're the one holding the ar15 pointed directly at someone threatening to shoot if they don't stop whatever the frick they're doing if you have to use it. You want their attention.
