I created something for my boss only I can create.

I created something for my boss only I can create. As a result, we're being asked to make 60 of them, which will be a final bill price of roughly $200k.
I'll be paid $5k for my labor. Should I press for more?
I've done all the work attributed with this, my boss is just the salesman.

Sure. Are you hot enough shit to walk away of he says no though? You need a game plan. You dontnjust say 'hey give me more money-' he says 'no, get back to work'. Where do you go then? You probably signed away the IP for whatever you developed so you can't just walk out the door and recreate it.

I'm currently in a position that luckily allows me to be pretty detached from work/money, ie, if I get fired or they say no, I have all the power in this dynamic. Without me, they will lost exponentially more money fabrication-wise. I could leave without notice and be fine, but if I left the business would be on rocky waters.

I would try for informal regularly scheduled meals together. Habits are hard to break, make yourself into their habit.

What are material costs, and what is hourly billable to make the product. Who is providing and paying for material. Whose tools are being used.

What is his markup to client? What are chances of making and selling more. What risks are associated with the product. Is their sales support?

My friend worked at a bank and knew a lot of accounting. He met a businessman and made a deal, pay me half the money i save you.
Renegotiating loans and credit card fees alone made him like 10k.
Another guy here told a story about installing security cameras and sparing the company fake lawsuits from moronic union warehouse workers but, like you, he volunteered his skills to the bosses and didn't realize he could charge a lot.

That sounds like something that's illegal.
