I can't stop thinking about taking a dremel to my G17. Would you carry a full sized slide on a 19 or 26 frame?

the g26 is still annoyingly wide for a carry gun.

Can you do this with other pistols?

depends on what they go goin on in the grip.

Pretty sure you can put a cz75 slide on a compact frame, which is neat.
I've always wished CZ would make an SP-01 with a compact grip.

IDK mans, I'm really wanting to do a Glock 20L (10mm, longk slide) with one of those cheap eBay slides (so it's blank and doesn't have markings) and engraving the slide with shit like the Alucard pistol in Hellsing (I run a firearms laser engraving business anyways so it's free for me to do). Not cutting the frame down, but your image kinda made me think of that project again.

go for it, the 20L is fantastic.

Never owned a 10mm, shot a couple before. once I sell my dual tube NVGs and take care of some debt, I might go on and do this pistol build just kinda for the lols. I'm kinda excited for it because I've gotta imagine 10mm at that length must be spicier than frigg.

i dont know if my friend had the L or just a regular 20 but with a modest compensator they shoot incredibly smooth

real question, is the Glock 20 and Glock 21 barrel outer diameters the same? Like can you place a Glock 20 barrel in a Glock 21 and change the magazine and extractor and have a Glock 20 basically?

Okay after 5 seconds of checking myself, it turns out there are special conversion barrels for Glock 21 to shoot 10mm out of, but the Glock 20 slide has a smaller barrel hole than Glock 21, so I guess the outer diameters of their barrels as stock are not in fact the same.

But that makes me wonder if a 10mm conversion barrel for Glock 21 being basically a thiccc bull barrel would make this a better 10mm host for the spicy hot rounds.

Which then begs the question if I can find a Glock 41 and a Glock 40/10mm conversion barrel for it... Gen 5 of both 40 and 41 when, Glock ... come on now, Gaston's dead, open the floodgates! I want a longslide bull barrel 10mm in plastic.

chopping the frame seems fricking moronic but I DO really want a 17L or 34 with a 19 sized grip.

subcompactgays underestimate the power of the Pinkys grip. If your Pinky isn't locked in you're fricked.

Why not just buy one of various alternate glock frames that can accept the old Glock 17 barrel locking blocks but have a short frame?

      p80 made one, they're discontinued
      I didn't see any others

oh wow its just THAT simple, huh? please provide a link for one of these " alternate glock frames that can accept the old Glock 17 barrel locking blocks but have a short frame" frames.

I want you to reference a in-stock product from a company that still exists.

then buy a normal sized one and cut it down, homosexual. it's not my fault you had this idea too late and they stopped producing it.

I've been toying with the idea of doing the opposite, putting a compact locking block in a fullsize frame to make a comped pistol without overhang. The oem compact locking block fits in a fullsize p80 frame, so the reverse will be true, then it's a matter of making or buying split front rails like pic related. It's a pretty bad time for playing with p80s right now with their legal status in dispute, and while you can get serialized frames doing it like this is probably more money and work than most people are interested in when they could just trim the frame they have.

So fricking zased. Do it anon. I love 26s.
The magic of accuracy from a 26, with the sight radius and low recoil of a 17. What's not to love?

You can just put a 47 slide into a 19 frame if you want. You basically get the same thing
Also I know people have done it and then tried to sell them afterwards but nobody buys them. If I had to guess, it’s one of those ideas that seems better in theory than in practice

I do. Leave the dremel alone and use a hacksaw, file, and sandpaper.

    Absolutely.
Instead of making 19X for fatass cops Glock should be making 19L and 26L.

I thought about a grip chop to g19 length but I'm over it now. If you get a good AIWB holster it shouldn't make too much of a difference. I have a jmck wing claw 2.5 and the claw really does wonders for concealment and I'm 6'0 and 150lbs.
