no no, i'm coming in to bat for the west lol don't get me wrong, i was pointing out that the webm attached to the post i referenced was the us -intercepting- a hgv (if i recall) which casts doubt on the amazing chinese wunderwaffe status of the df missiles. apparently as far as i understand it also while the hypersonic missiles move crazy and zig zag, during the final stages of their trajectory it's a pretty linear path?
That's why it's so funny.
Khinzal was this mythical, unbeatable, hypersonic wunderwaffe. But now that one has been downed it's not a real hypersonic anymore and the real hypersonics haven't been used yet, because Russia still has many layers of gloves on.

oh fuck off vatmoron unlike your "what's the meaning of Ukraine dying" threads this is actually about a weapon.
People made fun of patriot for years. This is hilarious
The likes in Israel would ever make such a shitty retarded missile. Their anti-missile arrow system itself is ten times more advances than the entire selection of Russian missiles.
if something moves fast but does not manoeuvrer it can be intercepted by current tech with no problem. think satellites they are much faster than any missile in atmosphere and yet they can be shot down by current tech
I've seen a video of a russian missile being hit. it flew perfectly straight which is what any air defense loves to see a nice predictably perfectly straight line. If you fly like that you'll be easily downed no matter how fast you fly.
Speaking of fly those lil shits have a randomness generator in their brain that makes them incapable of flying straight wonder why...
Not saying Kinzhal has significant maneuver capability, but video of any ballistic missile being intercepted will look like a missile flying straight being hit. Even in the violent “skip” phases of an actual hypersonic missile, it will be yawing very lightly
The US has a different definition of what a hypersonic weapon is. The Russians and chinese just use speed to define a system as hypersonic. Their hope is to strike a target before being detected or to outrun the defense systems. The US program appears to have the aim of eventually developing a hypersonic fighter jet/drone.
Is there even one of these pictures where they didn't just took the american hypersonic missile as a base for the illustration of the russian """hypersonic""". At least they didn't copy the US DOD label.
>Hypersonic weapons are a meme?!?!
The fact that "hypersonic" has been one of the favorite buzzwords of third-world MICs for decades now should have told you that already; every """hypersonic missile""" that achieves hypersonic speeds in flight and then slows down massively before impact (like the ones that vatmorons and poos and chinks like to brag about and which was achieved by the fucking V2) is fake and gay. Kinzhal in particular is especially retarded because it's just a fucking Iskander that they moron-rigged to fit a MiG-31 and then decided to market as some revolutionary new wunderwaffle.
This is the same fake bullshit like the story Ukrainians shooting down drones with jars of pickles. It's retarded soviet-tier slav propaganda. All the 65 IQ slavs here will brigade this post.
If the US doesn’t seriously pursue it with its massive economy, huge educated workforce, and its nearly unlimited military budget; then you can safely assume that it is a meme.
>it is a meme
Or they're beyond it. You don't keep on developing faster and faster prop fighters when you start building jet planes. I have similar suHispanicions about Nuclear bombs too. Not even theoretical proposals for new designs is sus.
They are and it's not that mindblowing either considering the US were testing these things decades ago.
What people actually should be referring to is hypersonic boost-glide vehicles which are an entirely different beast than kinzhals, and is what china is leading development on. kinzhals can't maneuver and threaten defensive systems, HGVs can
That was a very long time ago and development has changed since the mid-Cold War. Fact of the matter is that the US doesn't currently field any hypersonic missiles.
China already has DF-ZF HGVs they pair with DF-17 for greater A2/AD capability against the US, and has for years now. What does the US have today by comparison that doesn't resort to experimental ICBMs = hypersonics?

Is that why they've been trying and failing for years now to produce these "made up propaganda missiles" lol
https://archive.is/nvKtz
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-29/us-air-force-plans-to-end-lockheed-hypersonic-weapon-program#xj4y7vzkg
Boost-glide lose all advantages when it maneuvers because of it being unpowered. Every turn causes a loss in velocity, they're still easily detected from launch to impact from space based sensors, flight time isn't any better than a BM launched in a depressed trajectory, ect. So, can you explain the advantage they have over stealth smart missiles? They still have two ARRWs they plan to test, and will make the final decision then. They've had multiple successful tests of it, so it's not like it's a total failure. I always thought it was stupid to focus on such a shit design. The HACM/HAWC tests have been much better. They have 3D printed scramjets, and run on jet fuel, can be carried by many more platforms, cheaper, range is great as it gets the oxygen from the atmosphere, flies a much lower flatter trajectory than HBGVs you get the idea.
They could work up an IRBM with a HSGV and call it the Pershing III, the US doesn't do it because they believe to not need the capability, and whatever they'd build would be much more capable in terms of sensors and accuracy.
But the US has no desire for such weapons, they prefer to leverage their massive advantage in stealth and sensor integration to boost the capability of smaller smart munitions, that can be massed more easily and engage targets from multiple directions.
This is what's most fascinating to me about the Chinese mindset. >"We have X" >"Okay." >"YOU DON'T HAVE EQUIVALENT TO X SO WE'RE WINNING!"
Never mind any uncertainty surrounding what they *actually* have. To me it's always interesting how they see the simple act of saying you have a capability as *inherently* meaningful. It really illuminates the mentality they have behind stealing shit. >"America has Y, them having Y is associated with their strength and power >So if we just copy Y and say we have it, we also have the same strength and power!"
Naturally, if *they* can now say they have something that America doesn't have, then it means they're powerful in a way that demands America copy *them*. Never mind that what they have is copied from US shit from decades ago first, that doesn't matter to them. It never occurs to them that war between "peers" doesn't require 100% systems parity. God knows they don't have systems parity with the USN and AF, and yet they can barely conceal their war boners for the US Navy and Air Force.
tl;dr why do you think it's necessary for the US to have an *exact* counterpart to Chinesium HGVs? You don't think the entirety of the offensive inventory of the US is insufficient and irrelevant absent memesonics, do you?
Aside from the ease of intercepting ballistic missiles (including HGVs, or semi-ballistic) due to their deterministic flight-paths, they are very prone to developing a plasma sheath at around Mach 5 or above. The shock of entering heavy atmosphere heavily contributes to plasma formation. While the plasma sheath is up the vehicle is completely deaf and blind; it can’t communicate in any way and nothing besides a millimeter-wave radar can get through — which is useless due to very restricted useable range. We’re talking about -50 dB of attenuation, basically nothing useful will get in or out. To add insult to injury the plasma itself emits a specific electromagnetic frequency making it detectable by passive means — NOT that is required as the missile would be tracked using space-search radar and other early warning systems, and the flight path extrapolated from there. It’s just another layer of challenge for a ballistic missile.
So, these "hypersonic" missiles are useless for anything besides a stationary, large object which can pre-targeted. The West has spent a lot of resources into defeating ballistic missiles: GBI, SM-3, THAAD, David’s Sling, PAC-2/3 etc. Even Russia has S-400 (S-300 optimized for ABM). This is mature tech. So there is nothing stunning or special about a Kinzhal being intercepted by a Patriot.
Chinese missiles like the DF-21 are also easily-intercepted for the same reasons — what makes them dangerous are there numbers which, if China isn’t lying about those numbers, will overwhelm any ABM defenses likely to be faced.
Plasma sheath presents a challenge but it doesn't present an impossible one. It is a misconception that it forms around the entire thing causing total comms blackout or that it happens exactly at specific speeds. it's very dependent upon shape and other factors. And comms blackout obviously doesn't happen for the entire duration, so all this put together, saying that the vehicle is completely deaf and blind is inaccurate and misrepresents its weaknesses
Lol the chinksects are in for a rude awakening if they ever try to invade Taiwan.
You can call all the people who tell you the truth big dumb dummy heads with bad IQ and no intelligence all day, Chang. You still lose.
Also why are the Chinese so quick to attack brainpower? Is it something they're self-conscious about? Having brains that are only good at copying instead of creating?
>muh asymmetric first strike nuclear blackmail btfo'd by decades old systems

>video on social media about something shot down over Kiev >social media declares it's the Miracle Weapon of the Month taking down the Death Star Vodka Bottle, shows random photos from the web as wreckage >Air Force debunks the hype, turns out it was just a rogue drone shot down >Next day, propaganda department "confirms" that the underachieving missile with the untrained crew did in fact shoot down the Death Star Vodka Bottle, because that's a "slap in the face to Russia"

And comms blackout obviously doesn't happen for the entire duration, so all this put together, saying that the vehicle is completely deaf and blind is inaccurate and misrepresents its weaknesses
Retard
You can call all the people who tell you the truth big dumb dummy heads with bad IQ and no intelligence all day, Chang. You still lose.
Also why are the Chinese so quick to attack brainpower? Is it something they're self-conscious about? Having brains that are only good at copying instead of creating?
Lol the chinksects are in for a rude awakening if they ever try to invade Taiwan.
>muh asymmetric first strike nuclear blackmail btfo'd by decades old systems
It was an actual feint, unlike the drive on Kiev. Shit was conceived in the 40s and patented through the late 60s, it's not fucking impressive.
I beg anyone, litteraly anyone in this board to look up what hypersonic means, and how it applies to any old ballistic missile, and then to look up what a hypersonic glide vehicle is, and how a hypersonic glide vehicle differs from a ballistic missile. The Russians are playing the confusion because they can't into HGV.
May we see it?

Didn't look like a Kinzhal.

let me troll in peace you moron
>video on social media about something shot down over Kiev
>social media declares it's the Miracle Weapon of the Month taking down the Death Star Vodka Bottle, shows random photos from the web as wreckage
>Air Force debunks the hype, turns out it was just a rogue drone shot down
>Next day, propaganda department "confirms" that the underachieving missile with the untrained crew did in fact shoot down the Death Star Vodka Bottle, because that's a "slap in the face to Russia"
It's Ghost of Kyiv gayry again. I guess their propaganda needs a new "silver bullet" after it was confirmed that Russian EW figured out how to jam HIMARS and GLB guidance.
It's a Mach 5+ cruise missile retard.
>The Kh-47M2 Kinzhal (in Russian: Х-47M2 Кинжaл, "Dagger", NATO reporting name Killjoy) is a Russian nuclear-capable hypersonic air-launched ballistic missile.

Calls the other anon a "retard." I've grown convinced the fabled Chinese IQ is about as real as Chinese Biological-Safety-Level Standards.
>The overall design of the missile is shared with the 9K720 Iskander, with the guidance section modified for Kinzhal.
>The Russian Iskander is a quasi-ballistic missile.[10] The Russian Iskander-M cruises at hypersonic speed of 2,100–2,600 m/s (Mach 6–7) at a height of 50 km. The Iskander-M weighs 4,615 kg, carries a warhead of 710–800 kg, has a range of 480 km and achieves a CEP of 5–7 meters. During flight it can maneuver at different altitudes and trajectories to evade anti-ballistic missiles.[11][12]
>cruises at an altitude
>ballistic
I've grown convinced that you are, in fact, illiterate retards.
>The Russian Iskander is a quasi-ballistic missile
Re-read this. This board is stupid
>The Russian Iskander-M cruises at ... a height of 50 km.
That's not a cruise missile you muppet the point of a cruise missile is to get under radar you're not going to be doing that at 50 clicks stop using language like you're trying to hide a ball under three cups to trick retards.
BRICs cannot compete
