These things aren't even effective against the Ukrainians and you think you're going to get a swarm through and successfully strike American targets? Good luck.
        >no country take responsibility
This will not work, because you cannot hide the logistical tail of a massive drone swarm.
        >bad guys use speed boats and flee in different directions
You cannot launch long range suicide drones from a speedboat. If you think a mothership is going to go unnoticed in the Pacific, you're insane. That ship is going to be stopped, boarded, and the command crew will be being tortured for information in less than 24 hours. Probably in less than 8.

Attack Americans successfully and they will literally kill millions and millions of you before they feel a modicum of satisfaction. Americans are the most genocidal people on Earth when roused to anger, and this has been true literally from the beginning, when raghead pirates attacked American shipping and the US responded by sending in the Marines to murder anyone they saw, burn down what they could set on fire, and bombard with cannons whatever seemed in need of new holes.

That ship was hijacked by bad guys and was later blown up and drown. Bad guys used speed boats to get to another ship to refill the speed boats and destroyed that ship too. Until you investigate the ship wreckage on the bottom of the ocean they will be long gone chilling on the other continent. You really think le mighty US Navy controls every inch of the ocean lol? So are you saying that you don't know what to do in that scenario and would rather support an invasion of some irrelevant country to just create an illusion that the government is doing something? Then what are going to say when they hit you with a bunch of drones sent from the ocean again right after you invaded that country?

Damn, that slow? Holy shit they're barely better than a V1

He said 'launch from ocean hundred miles away' so if they travel at 200mph, it'll take 30 mins to reach land. He did not say 'from a nation state across the ocean'. He said from the ocean. Ignoring that if you're in a position to launch hundreds of drones from vessels in the ocean you're going to get spotted doing so or worked out who it was simply by calculating where they came from and who is most likely to have done it... what is the point? Okay you hit cities and kill some people and do damage... So? What does this actually do? Wars all have goals. Even terror attacks have goals. What does this achieve if nobody goes 'Yeah we did it'. What is the point? Terror attacks are pointless if you don't admit it was you to get attention. IS admitted they murdered all those people in Russia (funny how that has been totally forgotten already) because it wants to achieve its goals and scare people. When the IRA blew up innocent civilians in pubs in London, it was because somethingsomethinggiveusnorthernirelandsowecanmurderprotswithoutissue. When Christian Fundies firebomb abortion clinics, it's because abortion is murder, so stop it. What does launching hundreds of kamikaze drones at some coastal cities do?

They wont travel in a straight line at 200mph, pathetically slow for an aerial target, the whole time. They also lack accuracy and carry a small warhead. Even if they were used in a surprise saturation attack (extremely unlikely to happen), it's doubtful they would do any serious damage

Even accepting your totally ridiculous and divorced from reality premise, the last word in land warfare is to seize and hold ground.

You're never going to achieve enough mass to seriously degrade the military capability of the United States through drones alone and certainly not in 1 wave. Nor will it enable any kind of serious offensive action. The US is separated from its geopolitical rivals by two massive oceans and no one has A) the naval compacity to decisively defeat it's navies on the open sea or B) the sea-lift compacity to move an invasion force.

It ultimately, even if successful, amounts to terror bombing. Which, inevitably will only awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.

Which brings to mind a question that I’ve been wondering about. Everyone seemed shocked and appalled when Afghanistan collapsed after the pullout, saying that they never knew the national government was so incompetent. But I distinctly remember just about every vet that came back during the occupation remarked about how lazy, moronic, and useless the Afghanis were. Are my memories gaslighting me?

US satellites would be able to tell where the "bad guys" came from and where they fled to. They would likely be spotted on their way to the US. Analysis of the drones would likely reveal where they were made. And probably every drone would be able to be intercepted given the enormous numbers of aircraft on the mainland US, in addition to US Navy and Coast Guard ships and land based air defense batteries shooting the drones down, and even large numbers of military, police, and civilians with small arms together could likely take some down if they got through (see Ukraine where some police have literally done just that).

The main challenge in this scenario isn’t launching hundreds of kamikaze drones at the US from the ocean, it’s how such an operation even gets to the point of launching given the degree to which ocean traffic is monitored by numerous US assets, not to mention human intelligence.

But let’s pretend opfor maintained impeccable security setting up the attack, used launchers hidden in shipping containers and arrived off-site via legit commercial routes aboard legit freighters. The next challenge would be to somehow evade US air monitoring from picking up the kamikazes immediately after launch — because if they have to fly 1.5-2 hours before reaching their target, they’ll only have 30 minutes give or take before being intercepted by the USAF, with other squadrons activated to deal with the number of threats as needed. That attack probably won’t make it. But let’s say it’s 600 launched in order to overwhelm the defense. The challenge then is how do the bad guys escape? They probably can’t. Even if they rigged up a submarine to escape the container ships unseen, that close to the US coast would be mean any such sub would be tracked by US hydrophone networks and found by the Navy when they show up. Even small motorboats won’t escape detection given the number of sophistication of sensors watching the ocean. So this attack is possible, but it’ll be difficult to set up and escape is virtually impossible.

Everyday dozens of Narcosubs land in various locations in the US and Mexico to dump drugs, the coast guard still has to do old fashioned surveillance to catch them. SOSUS and Pave Paws were designed for a near-peer adversary, not asymmetrical small-boats.
You'd just end up having the navy blow up a bunch of civvie recreational boats in the chaos because there's no established way of knowing who is friend-foe.

some simple math could be done to determine how many drones/cruise missiles/etc. would need to be launched to overwhelm any defense.
that defense capacity has to be determined at some point.
think critically here for a moment (i know it's hard for /k/ope) - a second or third wave: how much would have been intercepted? how about a 4th or 5th wave?
Continue this exercise - it's purely economical. At some point the cost and the availability of the defense will be overcome.
All it takes is for the game to be changed. Send up 10's of thousands, with most of them being mere ghosts. there is no defense that can stand.
We just havent arrived at a point where this is relevant... yet

The part that morons like yourself don't understand is that assembling the thousands of drones in a single firing location for your epig saturation attack is going to be the most obvious thing to anyone who cares to look and as such will be shut down by anyone with a halfway competent airforce, as shown by the USN picking off so many of Iran's missiles even if they weren't allowed to just go bomb the launch site.

That can assemble and arsenal of long range drones in great enough numbers to overwhelm the US's missile defense network
A fleet of untraceable stealth ships that can approach the US mainland without being detected
Countless crews and operators needed to launch hundreds of drones simultaneously
The ability to magically disable the immediate US air and naval reaction in order to launch multiple waves of attacks
Having more drones on your stealth armada than the US has interceptors at hand on its own territory
Everyone involved in the operation somehow getting away undetected by speedboat, even though the only place reachable by speedboat is the US
And of course nobody bothering to look at any of the debris from hundreds of drones to figure out where they were made

They can always assemble those out of a bunch of Chinese made components and 3d print other things in some wearhouse in Latin America. As for getting away they can use other ships far from each other as fueling stations or they can have extra fuel with them. Those boats can travel pretty far tbh.

Speedboats on the ocean somehow escaping the coast guard, navy and airforce. Sorry no. We capture those who don't drown, and they immediately give up who they serve. Mostly based simply on who they are. Then we bomb the shit out of them.

This is a very bizarre thread and OP seems very third-world.

1/3 of USA is literally a third world. Your insults and buzzwords are useless here.

The "panic" would be a farcically huge air defense system on every coast that would push AA technology in America forward 30 years.

Wow if only the largest coast guard in the world had hundreds of vessels with CWIS surrounding the country at all times.

Since this is seems to be the dedicated third worlder wunderwaffen thead, I present the narco carrier. You could spend all of this money on speedboats and drones, along with a cargo ship to launch said drones, or you could combine the two and have a vastly superior weapons platform. You could strike from anywhere, cleaving super carriers in twain with your shitty moped powered cruise missiles. The vvest has no covnter to this brilliant strategy.

Would be easier to somehow imbed hundreds of your men as dock workers, sailors, port officials, etc. for decades, load hundreds of drones onto a cargo ship, launch them all when nearing us coastline, then scuttle the ship and optionally escape via submarine.

It's how the wars will be fought in the future I think. Those things unlike regular military missiles can be built literally anywhere. If Iran can make them then other people with enough money can make them. Countries like US will need to make new unti drone systems that will take years and it's not guaranteed if it's going to work perfectly. It kinda crazy if you think about it really.

That's too complex. A much simpler attack would be to smuggle explosives across the border, build a bunch of quadcopters, arm them with the explosives, and then launch a Time on Target attack on everything from airbases (most planes are stored outdoors) to key power substations.

Oceans make it easier to get away than crossing land borders.
