How/where would one acquire silver bullets for the vanquishing of the supernatural?
I would imagine the best choice would be a silver ball for firing out of a black powder rifle or handgun.
However, in the event of an attack by a creature of the night, I think having a cased cartridge would facilitate quicker and easier loading. I think that would be necessary as one would never know when such a circumstance would arise.
That complicates things a great deal, though. I imagine a fully silver bullet would be quite cost prohibitive. Would it be possible to create a silver-jacketed bullet? Would that cause issues with expansion? Or the rifling? I have heard of at least one person filling a hollowpoint with silver but the silver separates from the bullet upon impact which makes me doubtful of it's ballistic abilities.
Would the best option be a lead-silver alloy? Supposedly it would only need a small silver content as I'm lead to believe only a small amount of silver would do.
> I imagine a fully silver bullet would be quite cost prohibitive. Would it be possible to create a silver-jacketed bullet?
Pay the money for proper silver bullets anon
Does the case really need to be silver? The bullet is the only thing being fired here so it should be the only thing made of silver
No, the case obviously has to be pure rhodium.
>how to destroy your rifling in one simple step
>plate in platinum group hard af metals!
Total midwit post.
>Case
>Ruin barrels
>Platinum group hard metals
Wow bro you know the periodic table!?
Rhodium has a mohs hardness of 6, way higher than most barrel rifling. Other platinum group metals are as hard or harder, for example Iridium has a mohs hardness of 6.5.
to be fair, platinum and palladium aren't that hard, but the other four are indeed 6 to 7.5 hardness.
Making the case silver will do fuck all against werewolves. The metal has a purifying effect in physical contact.
If you can't get bullets maybe throw some silver dollars to scare it away.
Stop watching kentucky buttfucker, you queer
>throw silver dollars at your enemies, goy
heeb hands typed this post
>scare off werewolves
>attract israelites
out of the frying pan and into the fire
silver burns israelites and they can't hold it
>not cutting up silver dollars to make jagged buckshot for custom shotgun shells
literal buck-shot
make your own bullets, just use silver solder, the can't tell the difference.
>I imagine a fully silver bullet would be quite cost prohibitive.
You know you can just, like, look up what silver costs? You are on the internet, Google's right fucking there. All it takes is for you to show some minute fucking hint of intelligence and agency for once in your fucking life.
But how much trial and error is it going to take before I get a method that works? How much silver am I going to have to burn through before I can get a handful of rounds I can be confident in?
Fuck off out of this thread if you're gonna be a negative nancy.
Literally just cast a bullet entirely of silver. It's only $23 per ounce, so you could make a whole magazine worth of pistol rounds for under $200.00.
It's a bit pricey compared to lead, but a small price to pay to kill an immortal creature of the night.
You don't need a silver case you dummy, also the only supernatural menace you have to worry about in real life is those pesky brass goblins
>I have heard of at least one person filling a hollowpoint with silver
That'd be me unless this is a more common practice than I'm aware of.
cast bullets wouldn't be *too* expensive, you're using less than half an oz per round so that's like $10 per round. and silver shrinks more than lead when cast so you'd need custom molds.
I think electroplating bullets would probably be the next best option, it doesn't take too much silver and it should be easyish to do at home.
Don’t know but I would go with silver plating. It’s just as good and isn’t nearly as cost prohibitive
Right here.

> $150/round for less than $20 of silver and a completely normal 45acp round
Jesus fuck
>small production trinket for weidos
>it might take years to sell off 1,000 rounds
It requires a big upfront cost and a slow pay off over years to make the money back
Fuck off, you socialist commie. you don't need a silver bullet to eat or live.
thats the most american thing ive seen in a while. you wouldnt have this anywhere else.
Nearly choked on my drink reading the sales regulations
>$150 for one round
This is just a novelty/gift item, noone in the industry uses these. There used to be a few vendors selling silver bullets for reloading, but I think theyve all dried up over the past 5 years or so. The simplest solution is to buy some silver shot and some 12ga shells. Make some wax slugs and make some mixed shot loads with the silver shot + #1 lead shot. You could look into pouring your own bullets/more uniform silver shot, but I dont think thats really worth the time and effort
magic works by sentiment and emotion anon. If you dilute magical ammo because you want to be cheap, than the ammo will be cheap and ineffective. Magic ammo is supposed to be scarce and made through personal sacrifice, that's what gives it its power
>Not channeling your 'its good enough' emotion as to maximize effect while minimizing resources
Fucking spiritlets
>sacifice
You sure, you ain't using the powers of another malevolent being to make your Ammo?
This, the Lord is your shepherd, you will lack nothing, if you believe in him with all your being, even lead can destroy the evil one...
>Captcha:2JVST
Anon, just use a shotgun or one of those revolvers that fire .410 or use those anti snake/rat ammo.
Use pieces of silver as the projectile and be done with it.
Most of the Supernatural BS would CQC you, so they would be within effective range.
Those that don't likely can mindcontrol you a mile away, so you are screwed anyway.
What about hollow points with silver pellets glued in the holed tips?
If thats the case, you are better off with using a crossbow or bow.
Silver bullets were an invention of the 1941 Wolfman movie. There is basically no folklore that suggests shooting a vampire/werewolf/demon with silver is an effective way to kill them. The closest thing would probably be religious items made of silver like pendants.
Not entirely true, there is some basis in folklore for various special bullets. For example, Siberian natives believe that cannibal witches of the woods can only be killed with a golden bullet
Also, since magic works by belief, new BS isn't any worse than old BS... as long as whatever you're shooting at has watched TV since the 1940s
Any folklore about bullets is barely 100 years old and should be disregarded unless it comes from old tales of x coated swords and knives.
Also people that believe in supernatural such as ghosts and magic are literally on average 20-40iq points below those that don't.
>Any folklore about bullets is barely 100 years old
Firearms were introduced into Europe at some point during the 1200s and became semi common by the 1340s.
>should be disregarded unless it comes from old tales of x coated swords and knives.
Tales of the most common paranormal creatures like werewolves rose in prevalence at around the time firearms were introduced into most places after contact with the Mongols or China, namely in Europe.
>Also people that believe in supernatural such as ghosts and magic are literally on average 20-40iq points below those that don't.
yeah
Sidenote:
Its not only Silver Anons, you can use Platinium or Palladium too as a Silvee replacement.
regular iron works, so m855 and 7n6 should be fine.

Creatures Affected by Iron
Demons - Touching an iron will burn most demons.
Acheri - Contact with iron will force an Acheri to dissolve and temporarily retreat.[1]
Wendigos - The Pad of Definitions mentions that wendigos can only succumb to a few metals, one of them is iron, although it doesn't states that it can in fact kill them.
Fairies - All fairies are weakened by iron, although powerful ones like Leprechauns can shrug it off.[2]
Ghosts - Shooting or stabbing a ghost with iron will temporarily make the ghost disappear. Ghosts also can't cross iron. Sam and Dean consider cold iron to be the best way to repel vengeful spirits. If a person possessed by a spirit touches something made of pure iron the spirit will be forced out of the human.
Hellhounds - Iron can harm them as demonstrated in the episode "Abandon All Hope..." in which Ellen and Jo sacrifice themselves to attempt to kill the attacking hellhounds by detonating a propane bomb filled with iron nails and rock salt.[3]
Leshi - The only way to kill a Leshi is to cut off its head with an iron axe.[4]
Phoenixes - Iron burned the Phoenix's skin, and it couldn't touch Iron, or if imprisoned by it, escape.[5]
Shtrigas - Consecrated Iron bullets are the only known thing that can kill a Shtriga.[6]
Witches - Although Iron doesn't hurt witches, it blocks their powers, as Dean used it to restrain James Frampton and he was unable to escape from them or astral project.[7] Olivette was also bound by Iron when Crowley captured her for his mother Rowena and was left powerless. However, a sufficiently powerful witch such as Rowena proved able to eventually break free from the iron chains Sam placed on her and even noted that iron won't hold her for too long. Iron’s ability to block a witch’s power isn’t absolute as it doesn’t prevent certain spells such as removing the Mark of Cain.
>All fairies are weakened by iron
Depending of you definition of fairy, not even close, lots of them are of the earth element and iron is either like everything else to them or will not harm them, specially the dwarves, gnomes and goblins like Traucos or Red Caps.
It needs to be cold iron. Also, gnomes aren't fairies, you schizo
Not him but in traditional folklore iron burns/harms faeries, and they fear it greatly, that is why its traditional to hang a horseshoe over a newborn baby's cot, as faeries also like taking children.
Buy a bullet mold, cast your own, buy a Lee loader, and load them. Add enough antimony to make them hard-cast.
Why not just add some 2-5% silver solder wiring to your lead mixture before casting? And for good measure do a simple silver plating over it.
The ultimate anti-spooky shit weapon is an AR-10 in 308Win with a bayonet lug and buttstock made of rowan wood or similar.
>can easily hand load silver-jacketed FMJ steel core multi purpose ammo
>bullet is big enough to fuck up most anything's day
>high parts availability
>easily attach optic for taking out spooky shit from a distance
>bayonet for taking out spooky shit up close
>wood stock means that you can embed a cross or other item of faith
>can also use the wood as emergency shavings
>can store garlic in the pistol grip
CMV
Silver costs 20$ an ounce. Not expensive
If you paid me I could cast scrap silver bullets you could then load
Or you could just DIY
t. Used to make israeliteelry
Silver bullets? You're better off with silver shot for shotguns.
Good read.
https://www.patriciabriggs.com/articles/silver/silverbullet4.shtml
the first sentence is pure horseshit, silver's between lead and copper in both hardness and density, if solid copper bullets don't have a problem slowing down too fast then neither will silver. I'll keep reading it though.
okay props to the guys for working out everything until success, I forgive the clickbaity first page
Couldn't you just embed a silver core in a regular lead bullet?
Coonan used to make these.
6 Silver coated bullets in a Vampire Stake
I lied. 8 Rounds
https://minutemanammo.com/products/werewolf-defense-line
Just load a shotgun shell with silver, easy peasy.
fuck furries, i need some cold iron 12ga for these damn fairies
Shame on OP. He is a retard.
use depleted uraninum like a sane normal person
So you need to shoot a Lycan with silver? Get a shotgun. Go buy silver chain from a reputable israeliteeler, break links down to singles and load up a couple of shotgun shells. Enjoy!
kys
Silver buckshot is the best, idiot. You're going to get someone killed. Silver kills the supernatural better than other bullets due to a principle of certain races' biology which allows them to regenerate wounds in excess of their own body mass. Silver removes this factor similarly to how stainless steel kills bacteria on contact.
For this reason, you need to:
>directly touch the wound with silver (your silver .223 isn't going to do much more than a silver .45)
>hit something essential to life (head, pancreas, or heart in that order)
Shotgun maximizes all of that in as short a time as possible which is of utmost importance with a 350-375 pound werewolf coming at you around 55 mph.
A bunch of amateurs here, I swear.
Why not just a silver tip penetrator? Wouldn’t that be much more efficient over an entire bullet of silver?
Silver coins in the end of a sock
Is it really that easy?
