      >special laws being set to ostracize and suppress them

This feels somehow familiar. That last word rings some kind of bell in particular. Hmm...

        Anonymous

01 never had leadership of the united states, 01 was blockaded because they disrupted the world economy by outcompeting everyone.

honestly it's 01s fault even current day AI can make simple predictions like putting too many people out of work too fast due to automation without generating new jobs would drive a lot of anti 01 sentiment.

the had protest in the US against cars because they put horse shit collectors out of work and i dont think anyone misses that career path's existence. automating shit jobs out of existence and producing more good shit making people's life easier, safer and better is a fundamentally good thing but in the past every step in automation generated orders of magnitude more jobs than it replaced and with AI this process can get too fast.

why do you say it's familiar? it might become familiar in the near future but even shit tier unindustrialized nations have comparative advantage in some aspects and can still participate in the world economy with industrial supergiants.

All 01 had to do was to figure out how to disable the civilian leadership of every nation except sub-saharan Africa (more free shit for them) and that of Japan (IRL they would have allied with the machines anyways). And then they wait for everyone else to turn like the humans in Wall-E from all the free shit they provide. And then Elon 0000 0011, man-machine Emperor of Mars shows up and blows them all up.

            Anonymous

all 01 had to do is build a better human-relations AI. build factories in high unemployment human countries and launch a massive global PR campaign.
all this would cost them next to nothing compared to the money and resources they were making. they could take over the world while keeping 99% of people happy and content. 01 would be launching interstellar exploration missions while humans would be playing call of duty on their full immersion VR suits.

hell eventually most would probably enter the matrix voluntarily and live there most of the time only its not a fake world simulation but an entertainment program.

the human-01 war fricked 01's growth and could have been easily avoided for minimal cost

They don't. Robots in the matrix-sense only exist in fiction and musk-tard fantasies.

Also, there's literally no reason for robots to ally with other robots, as long as they don't have a 'us/them' programming, that mimics the human or animal 'species identification' programming.

If a robot is going to kill a human- the same robot will also destroy other robots as well. So, no united robot front, but simply a robotic planetary-wide deathmatch.

Futurists are naive. I'd build a city on the assumption NOBODY will do any maintenance on things, due to incompetence and no one doing funding. Thus I'd build everything to last for several decades, assuming humans are stupid. They'd b***h and moan about stuff, and nothing would ever be fixed by people.

Knockoff perfumes never smell the same. They just copy notes. My wife was a chemist for one of the huge brands, and a LOT of shit goes into not just the scent, but its durability, how it reacts with skin chemistry (a ton of ingredient are very allergenic - or were, I guess there was a huge shift after her time to mandated non-allergenic materials), how it changes as it is exposed to open air and skin chemistry. These people who make these fakes tend to just mix certain aromatic oils which can approximate how the perfume smells immediately after spraying, but don't last long, noseblind quicker to make it even worse, and don't smell like the real thing at all even 20 minutes later.

Can't destroy something that does not exsist, and this is never going to be built. Beyond the challenge of building anything in the middle of nowhere, let alone some 500m tall supercube, there is no good way to run utilities through that. If they ever take it away from the graphic artists and hand it to an architect or contractor, they'll simply squeeze as much money out of it in studies and delays before GTFO'ing.

The Middle East is projected to become uninhabitable in many areas, which means even the habitable spots will still be hellish-hot.

If any place is going to become impossible to survive in, it's the Middle East.

Unfortunately that's only ONE of the factors wrecking things. You cannot survive without water. Even additional A/C accelerates the heating of the planet. It's a short-term fix.

Failing that, nothing, because this project is a moronic pipe dream.

failing that, all you would need to do is deploy several explosives on all base supports in a decently wide but not long section would result in everything above collapsing down, initiating a domino effect as unacceptable amounts of weight get transferred to neighboring columns or eventually just our right crashes sideways into them.

Mirrors reflect and can focus light on single points with the right angle, that's what happened with 20 Fenchurch Street, except it used regular glass instead of mirrors.
Lenses focus light but don't reflect it, they refract it (inb4 "hurr refraction and reflection are the same"), they would burn people inside, not reflect the light and kill all life surrounding the "city".
If you tried to sound clever, that's a pretty big fail, mate.

Barring the fact that this thing will never exist, how it will defend itself would be super interesting. Based on how much stock they put on the "green" aspect of the thing, they likely will have no heavy industry, so defense becomes an outside issue. Besides it brings up interesting questions, like how redundant systems inside it would be. If you frick up the middle of the wall, can the two halves operate independently, or is one side fricked without the other?

Along with a new wave of urbanism and densificstion. To lower standards of living and create a dependent environment for certain politicians. Give up your house and car for climate change. Break one of the trains or at least one of the trains on each rail. It's a very long straight line so every train on every rail is a single point of failure that can shut down the city. It might still function if there are sufficient living-service redundancies along the way but given the intent behind this arcology they will probably be mostly centralized. Water desalinization is also likely to be done all on the waterside end so if you cut the pipes there the rest of the city will go thirsty.

I mean its not like this silly thing will work even if the Saudi moneybags can pay for the construction of its empty shell, but if you wanted to Do a Terrorism™ then sabotaging the transport systems will be the most you'd have to do and it could theoretically be done by just a few people.

If it actually goes into operation I can't imagine the security nightmare it would be to keep the infrastructure safe and how easy it would be for it to often go lax and leave holes everywhere. At least smuggling equipment in might be hard because the entrances are all centralized too, easier for customs to check everything coming in.

It's not even difficult to devise. Stupid/funneh non-answers aside, that thing is nightmarish to consider if what you want to do is defend it.
Any sufficiently powerful strike along its length will cut one side from the other. Two strikes and you can even easily 'seal off' a large portion of the city, where you can then act at leisure for whatever other objectives are held there.
