Couldn't the texans nuke back? The main nuclear weapon factory in the US is in texas.

        Texans have nooks too.

It takes a while to turn raw fissile material into nook.

If the Texans had a long enough lead-up period then nuclear deterrence would kick in.

Is this some sort of time travel thing considering the tank is fighting native american indians?

The biggest problem there seems like you would quickly run out of ammo and (especially) fuel for your tank if it was sent back to the wild west.

The Israelis get 100 billion in aid from their directly controlled client-states.
Texas has shotguns and horses and still ends up performing a Shoah.

I remember that story, I loved the tanks versus the cruiser in the Dallas shipping basin. Other than total silliness political setup it was how can we have IMI tankers fighting in North America?

It's a world with 90% of the population killed off in 1992-1994. There is no attack by amerindians on horses. It's actually a serious book and could of spawned a whole series. I lost my copy I had in 2004 to a hurricane. The setup is kinda crazy but then could we have seen Covid outside of a SF book before 2020.

    >Texas-Israeli War 1999 Background, written in 1973
    >In 1983, the nations of the world signed the Oslo Disarmament Treaty, severely limiting the size of nuclear arsenals. However, this led to a proliferation of biological and chemical weapons.

    >By the early 1990s, a fanatical Irish nationalist government had declared war on the UK, conquered Northern Ireland, and expelled the Protestants from that region. In August 1992, Irish commandos introduced LSD into the water supply of much of the UK. Under the influence of the drug, the Prime Minister and Parliament ordered the use of nuclear weapons against Ireland and her allies, South Africa and China. The Commonwealth backed the UK in the emerging World War III, and the United States joined the British side after Chinese missiles, targeting the Canadian Great Plains, struck inside the US. By this time, widespread biological warfare was in effect, with missile-borne pathogens doing extensive damage to both agriculture and human populations. One week after the beginning of the war, China invaded the Soviet Union. Israel remained the only major neutral great power. By the end of 1992, half of the world's population was dead; 90% had perished from plague and famine by 1994.

    >Later, Texas declared independence from the United States as the Second Republic of Texas; due to Texas' large oil reserves and refineries, the U.S. saw its recovery as an important strategic objective. During negotiations in Oklahoma City, U.S. President Clairewood was kidnapped by Texas Rangers and held captive in Texas, while the United States languished under the heavy-handed but ineffective leadership of Vice President William Mallow. The war between the two nations continued; a Texan offensive into Louisiana in May 1999 was repulsed, but only after war crimes were committed by Texan forces operating under the command of the Sons of the Alamo, a radical paramilitary group.

The book is really overselling the important of Texas to the US. Historically, Texas wanted to join the United States from the get-go and actually faced harsh economic downturn during its time as an independent Republic along with coercion from foreign powers like the UK. Even during the Civil War. Texas didn't do fricking much and just surrendered when the rest of the Confederacy surrendered.

I always found it weird that Texans hype themselves up as this great-independent juggernaut in the U.S when just like California they need the silver-blood (Trade/Power/Industry) of the rest of the US to make their living or go to economic shit state real fast. If anything, Texas would be trying to its best to annex US territories like Louisiana and portions of Mexico to survive/gain economic hub area domination..

Majority of Texas will just volunteer to die without shooting back. Christian Zionists think Israel has a right to do whatever it wants, no questions asked.

I still can't get over this shit. If the US ever went to war with Israel it would lose in the most stupid way possible.

    I've read the book.
It is unironically Israeli/israeli fanfic about plucky, powerful Israelis fighting (and defeating) big, dumb, white, Christian Texans. Texans are described as such, and the Tejanos all support Israel because muh racism.
I think the author's wife cheated on him with a Texan.
