How viable is a 1950s load out modern day?

How viable is a 1950’s load out modern day? I feel the firearm aesthetics from the 50’s and think it’s about time I grab a M14 and carbine.

Autists laud the 30 Carbine cartridge as a just as gud round but honestly it lacks smacking power to really deliver that frick you message.

if you're deterring opportunistic looters or fighting some guys it's going to work fine, but the fricked up meth head on a combo of bath salts, pcp, and who knows what is going to take a whole magazine of that shit and still keep running at you with his aids infested shiv.

If you really like running an M1 Carbine and practice with it, I don't see why not. There are better options for sure, but this isn't a bad one.

based. the only round capable of stopping a man reliably is m855a1 out of a 10" geissele. oorah

it seems to be a waste of money buying obsolete gear, when you could spend the same money on a more comfortable kit. Well the rifle will shoot the same as in 1945, but i would rather use a molle vest than frick around with this kit

You could refuse to buy guns that weren't on the market before the end of WWI and you'd still have commonly available options that are enough gun for any civilian self defense situation that has ever happened.

The lack of body armor and the lack of optics (if you don't put an Ultimak rail on the Carbine) will hinder you compared to a more modern kit, but it will still kill people just as good as it used to.

Do you know what that little tiny scope is on the top one? I really like it; wonder if it's a Weaver or something. Maybe a red dot? Tasco Accudot with some kind of rubber eye cup? Accudot knockoff? Fug I like it.

I keep an M1 Carbine for home defense because I'm dumb and I think they're cool. Ultimak rail with a SIG Romeo and a scout light combo on a pressure switch. It's like a PCC I guess I dunno they're unreliable pieces of shit but I still like it.

It's also entirely reversible. Ultimak rail is a clamp on to the barrel, no other alterations made to the gun.

It was one of those spider web coated, beat to shit Ethiopian M1 with the rotting stocks they found in a warehouse. I completely stripped it, cleaned it, lubed it up and replaced every spring and worn component. Not a rare model or manufacturer either so I think I can be forgiven for the minor modernizations.

Viable for what? Playing dress-up in your suburban bedroom? Yes, it's viable.

You people sound like you think there's some actual use for your guns beyond shooting for fun, it's silly.
