How useful is a pistol grip on a battle rifle, as compared to something like a Fightlite SCR, a Springfield M1A, or a LolKeks RDB/RFB?

How useful is a pistol grip on a battle rifle, as compared to something like a Fightlite SCR, a Springfield M1A, or a LolKeks RDB/RFB?

Does a pistol grip make a rifle much easier to manipulate? Is there a benefit to not having one, other than aesthetics?

Not compliant for a few reasons.

At the Federal level in Canada, we got conservative governments enough to be able to roll back bullshit every so often... But blue states? Those are locked in, in perpetuity. No because the law is unenforceable and grandfathers in all existing assault weapons. There is no way of knowing if someone illegally imported a new one unless it was some gun that came out after the ban, even then no one gives a fuck. No one asks for SBR or suppressor paper work at the ranges I go to. Some gunstores trend the line as legally as they can and some just don't give a fuck and sell you shit anyway. Gunstores pass illegal magazines all the time, none of the ones I go to because the attorney general specifically went after their asses for doing so already.

Nothing, but you cannot modify them in any way. Adding a muzzle device is modifying an assault weapon. It's brought up a lot of dubious questions on replacement parts if something is damage or broken is buying a new stock for a currently owned weapon, modifying a new assault weapon? Shit sucks here.

They're magic little secret is the language, you cannot modify so-called assault weapons with any additional parts which creates a lot of gray areas. And as I understand it, do to the legality issues, a lot of companies refused to ship to Washington State as to not be hemmed up in their bullshit sideways laws.

no I'm talking a purpose-built rimless rimfire round, one that looks like 5.56 and performs the exact same as 5.56, but fires like a .22, meaning that it would be totally legal to have a kitted out AR in this caliber. Also, the rifle would have to be made in a way that a regular 5.56 round either won't chamber or won't fire in it so it could only use this meme caliber.

Someone needs to come up with an AR variant that technically isn't semiauto but to charge it, requires a button to be pressed in between shots. Like you have a normal charging handle for the AR, then after every shot, the bolt is kept in a rearward position until you press a button or activate some sort of mechanical function. Something super easy to press as to not impact shootabilty and rate of fire. Like a non optional bolt hold open. That would probably cuck most AWBs until the courts take care of them.

        >Something super easy to press
Just make the trigger act as a bolt release, first stage of the trigger drops the bolt, second stage drops the hammer. Nothing could possibly be more satisfactory.

Pistol grips help you keep the rifle stable during rapid fire, and less importantly, give you the leverage to keep the weapon pointed with one hand/arm if you need your other hand for something else in an emergency. Now go ahead and post a bunch of jokes about jerking off

It's less that a pistol grip is more useful and that a traditional-gripped rifle is less useful. The M14/M1A have a fucking lot of reciprocating mass that makes the recoil feel much worse than either the G3 or FAL. If there had been the space to lengthen the receiver and increase the bolt's travel distance it wouldn't have been as bad.
    >But muh cyclic rate
Doesn't matter for shit on a rifle that will either be semiauto only or will be in full auto basically never.

Only for pistols. The SCR lower is not an assault weapon by itself, its features on the AR-15 upper like the handguard (evil barrel shroud) that make it an assault weapon. If you could get around that and have no threaded barrel it'll be legal like the few semi autos like the Browning BAR and Benelli R1

The lower by itself it is not an assault weapon, SCRlowers don't have any of the features that are banned. If you already have AR-15 uppers it's okay. Independently gunstores will still sell uppers since it's not creating a new assault weapon, you already have one in the lower by name (if we're talking AR-15 lower), it's a replacement part which is allowed.

AFAIK that's illegal now? Transfers to out-of-state residents require an FFL, and Idaho FFLs won't touch Washington residents, because WA law would make them liable for any crimes or damages that the firearm is involved in, at any point in the future.
