      Heat of combustion is much greater than the heat of vaporization. However, I do think wood is a better fuel if you have the equipment to burn it cleanly.

      For you and me. Market price for ethanol is down around $2.20/gal. But that's for a tanker car minimum purchase. When hardware store repackages it in 1 gallon cans, it goes up to $20/gal.

      It costs like a dollar per gallon to make it in a free market. Much cheaper than the alternatives which are subsidized by military spending. Honestly, it was worth subsidizing ethanol, because that means there is a surplus of farmers to prevent food shortages.
