Anyone know what kind of mold this and/or how to get rid of it? It's all over the corners of my shower ceiling. Online it says a mixture of bleach, dishwashing liquid, and water will do the trick, but I was wondering if anons had better ideas. I want to get rid of AND make sure it doesn't come back.
the mold is happening because of a moisture issue. You can treat/remove the mold but if you don't correct whatever is causing the moisture/humidity problem then it will come back eventually.
A solution of household bleach will kill mold like this, but it has no residual or longterm effect and isn't likely to soak in much and prevent regrowth later. A solution of borax will kill the mold and tends to have a better residual effect which prevents the mold from growing back later.
I also have mold in my toilet bowl - is borax safe to use on that too? Some people say bleach isn't safe to use for a toilet, maybe because of contaminating water?
> borax
Concrobium anti mould is mostly just TSP but i dont know how effective that is.
Copper sulfate solution would probably have a good long term effect if you like blue walls.
Maybe zinc chloride would work, too. Kind of colorless.
This anon gets it. Fix the moisture and it wont grow. Buy a dehumidifier?
Lightly wipe it with a damp cloth to remove the main body then dry with a paper towel. Follow that up with a chemical to kill the fungus.
There are multiple studies which indicate undiluted teatree oil is effective but these were conducted in growth medium or on fruit funguses, but few suggesting its better than consumer fungicide or hydrogen peroxide. Oil also inhibits fungus sporulation.
Where do u live this looks suHispaniciously like a Brit house
Thanks for the help anons
I'm a proud Texan not a disgusting Brit thank you very much
Lmao my apologies, most Brit homes have mould somewhere!
Also obviously don’t just paint over it since the mould will just love underneath it
bleach, bleach and more bleach
anon with an attitude like that OP won't use enough bleach.
>bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,bleach,or bleach
the alternative is to tear everything out, and build a new house.
but really you can also use Ozone or gasoline. you just have to quarantine the entire house and not return for a week. though bleach is cheaper faster and just as effective.
open a window
Fix the water leak and don't do anything untill them
Bleach or hydragen peroxide spray
It's in the walls too you're fucked dumbass
Paint over it
Pretend nothing happened
Are dehumidifiers not a thing in the Eunuch Kingdom?
use chlorine bleach. Copper sulfate seems to help too, but it turned out to be useless to me. I treated concrete walls in 2012, so far the mold has not returned.
